Luke Richardson to meet with Hartsburg today

Apparently Luke will meet with coach Hartsburg. No one knows what it's about, but it seems likely it's about a coaching position. Which would be really good for us IMO.

It's got to be for a coachign position or maybe something in Bingo. I'm going to try get a hold of his father, who I know well and see if he'll give me the scoop.

This could be interesting!!

Richardson would be a great coach plus he's super articulate so interviews would be nice to hear.

He'd be a great coach to work with all our young defensemen both in Bingo and here in Ottawa. Guys like Karlsson (x2), Lee, Schubert and Picard could really benefit from a mentor like old Lukey.

Agreed. He'd be great with Picard and Schubert especially.

So will Smith. This has to be about a coachin position as hartsburg can't sign players.

Thing is, wasn't Luke quoted in the paper a few days ago saying he wanted to give it another shot? And why not, actually. Half the people here were all aflutter with the possibility of getting 40-year-old Mathieu Schneider here and paying him almost $6M.

1. We have an overabundance of defensive defensemen.
2. Apart from the odd person here and there no one wants Schneider either.
3. Schneider can still score some points despite his age, injury risk and overall contract worth.
4. Luke shouldn't and won't steal a roster spot on D from any of the guys we have right now.

I think he could be our Reggie Dunlop.

Speaking of which, I hear Paul Newman wasn't doing well at all. He's been given just weeks to live (that was a couple of weeks ago). There's even rumours that he had already passed away.
