Sutton and Cullen are the new Commodore and Stillman. I let SSF come up with blank = blank formula here to best describe this. Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!

Commodore was our best D in that short playoff run and they were trying to force Stillman to play with a struggling Mike Fisher. They're trying the same formula with Cullen right now and we're seeing the results.

The biggest need from Day One, as I saw it, is a LW. Cullen is not a LW. He should be the 2nd line Center with a real LW with Fisher in the 3rd spot and Kelly traded. Sorry but that's the way I see it.

That's more of a word problem than a formula. Dammit!

I clearly showed that not all teams who make big splashes at the deadline are fading as you said. In any event, I am not arguing with you about good teams making minor tweaks, and I'd agree with you that "organizations who who tear their team apart to make the big move almost never win". But it's not always the case as I said.

My original point, the one you responded to, is that Sutton and Cullen are depth moves, so I don't quite understand what you are hoping to "prove" here.

Not really 3...

Roy wasn't a deadline deal...he was traded in early December of '95.

You may have a point, and you've made it several times already. Everyone acknowledges the type of player he WAS but they also insist that he's a different player NOW. Besides, you can't really judge how a player will look on a different team until he plays on that team.

Cheechoo anyone? Of course you can, all you have to do is watch their play recently. i really have nothing more to say and dont need to beat a dead horse, you will form your own opinion and i have no doubt it will match mine soon enough.

Big Freaking deal....

Kovalchuk's playoff numbers

8 GP 1 G 2 A 19 PIMS...

I guess you're saying that making a move for him is a waste as well?

I would still love to see one of you Einsteins provide a list of players and REALISTIC trades you would be willing to do. Not once have any of you nay sayers provided alternatives (well Hemlock did, but apparently Grebeshkov was the answer to our prayers)

Right. And I think Cheechoo's work ethic, positive attitude and physical play are assets... We all thought he was a TOTAL piece of Dung and I called him that MANY times. Frankly, he proved me wrong.

For me it's managing expectations. Ever since Murray came here he was billed as a big splash kind of guy making big moves on D-day and the Draft. He was able to do this on other teams. Why is it he is unable to do this in Ottawa.

Don't tell me to come up with options because Murray was able to figure it out everywhere he's been but here.

By other people. Murray is trying to do what's best for the organization; not please the founders GMHockey or Hockeybuzz so we can draw more traffic Wink

True but he got that rep by actually making big moved didn't he? Yes I want more traffic though Smile

Don't hold your breath Cap'n on that happening. When the biggest FA name on the market today is Ray Whitney, you know you're in for a snoozer.

He can't get here quickly enough after Brian 'Soft as butter' Lee last night, and Anton "6 years mother diddlers!" Volchenkov sucked soooo hard.

HM to Matt "I really don't suck often" Carkner.

That was tough to watch, but he really doesn't suck often. Carkner is still in my good books.

I see you conveniently left out his playoff seasons from 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 where he had 23 GP, 14 G, 14 A for 28 points and led his team the 2 championship titles. Understandable, no big deal, i will forgive you. Andy Sutton to Ottawa! - Page 13 62136
