Agreed. Yeah, that pick is going to be in the 55-60 range, but still. A pick doesn;t cost anything.

Murray has picked up 2 potential studs in the last 2 drafts, trading them this year if he doesnt really have his eye on anyone, then so be it. I would rather have Sutton then Leopold.

When you have depth in the organization then you can afford to do this.

Makes us deeper which sometimes is a little more important. He brought in a guy without giving up any current assets along with Cullen. Im not in love with the move, I dont hate it. I think Sutton will fit in nicely.

Also, we still have Lee around... Ottawa has the deepest, meanest, biggest blueline in The East.

I think this move is made more out of the fact that Sutton is a character guy who'll be happy to come in and accept a role position. The chemistry on this team should not be messed around with: fact.

Don't bank on it. Volchenkov would not get us a replacement this year, and I'm not sure Sutton is a replacement at all. So you have to replace A-Train somehow, so even if you get a 1st, it's likely going elsewhere for someone else.

Too late. I'm already banking on it. Besides, Sutton is as close as you'll get to a replacement for Volchenkov. Which makes me think this is a prelude for the A-Train to make it's final departure.

Ideally we have three forwards in the neutral zone in front of them.

Neither one of those guys will put themselves in positions where they are going to get beat though. Both guys play within themselves, are character guys, accept their roles, and play hard.

A 2nd is defently a decent price to pay but hey, that 2nd is only any good if your scouting staff thinks there is a Wiercoich or Lehner in that 2nd round. Long term thiis could have an effect if Ottawa does indeed make it past the 1st or 2nd round because they will be a legit threat in The East again, players will want to come here.
