Olympic Game Day: Switzerland vs. Canada 7:30PM EST. Thurs. Feb 18, 2010

If they're having this much trouble vs. Switzerland, how hard are they going to find it against Russia? Sweden? USA? Finland? etc.

Norway < Switzerland, right? Brodeur was the losing goalie vs. Switzerland in '06, right? So, they must have given him this game because they wanted him to have a chance at redeeming himself, plus they must have felt that playing him in the "tougher" game would justify it when they make him their #1 guy. I say, they should have given Marty Norway and Lou Switzerland.

I also think they took a few players they should not have.

Look at all the teammates they took, and what has it done? I see little chemistry. The passes are not hitting the tape today at all. Their powerplay movement has been sloppy.

I cant believe people are questioning who was picked. Fact of the matter is this would be the exact same result with anyone else. The Canadians play with a clear lack of respect against other teams and have since we won that gold medal in 2002. We think we r better then everyone and until that mind set is corrected, this is what will happen.

Canada needs a slap in the face, not just the team but the entire country when it comes to "our game".

Some players have better attitudes than others though, that would come into play. Regardless, if Canada loses out on Gold, people will always question the selection. But I think we all agree, they need to play better.

They dont even need to play better, then mentality of that team, coaching staff, and basically the country supporting them needs to change.

Call into question the selection process all you want, The Swiss would have still out worked this team no matter the result and their game wasnt going to change.

Total lack of respect for anything not Canadian.

This better be the wake up call this team needs, ala Sweden in 2002.

This team can and should be better, and can work infinitely harder.

Get back to basics. Stop looking for the perfect shot and just unload. Crash the net and score some ugly goals. The sense of urgency for this team is non-existent. Ifthe goal differential comes back to bite them in the Donkey, this is the game that killed them.

People forget that this isnt some Peewee team they are playing, these are professionals and a lot have been drafted by NHL clubs despite not playing in The NHL. They have just as much pride as Canadians do, probably a bit more at this point.

Took The Swiss to a shootout, they should be pround. Again, this game should have never been looked at as a game where they should blow out the other team, and it was which is the problem. They have a world class goaltender, professional NHLers, a good coach, and a lot of other things.

Guys laughing on the bench eh...? Impressive.
