What a costly game potentially. Now Canada has to beat the U.S. in order to control it's fate. Losing a point in this game poses a potential problem. With this format only 4 teams go through to the Medal round. 3 pool winners and the best team not to win. There is a real possibility that there is another team with 6 points who doesn't win their pool.

Potentially, this game costs Canada a medal. That's the reality right now.

that game was all hiller

Hiller score the 2 goals?

They had a heck of a game. I only saw the OT, and in OT I saw a lot of hooking, holding, interference go uncalled. If that's the way it was earlier in the game then the refs certainly had a hand in the outcome.

Still, it should not have been close. Canada has some things to work on. Like Pronger not worrying about trying to put someone through the boards *after* they passed the puck off. That second goal (on the delayed penalty to Pronger) was on him IMO. He looked quite ordinary out there.

Pronger is a selfish prick and that play sums up his entire attitude. He cheap shoted me, lets cost the team in a tight game. Pronger does it in other ways then a lot of the others, but that attitude is all around the team.

"Check your ego's at the door", not gonna happen on this team. They were laughing on the bench during the shootout, that honestly turned me on that team. They dont represent the hard work and character that the other Canadians representing my country do. They shouldnt even march beside them in the closing cermimonies with that attitude. Made me sick and the worst part was it was Iginla and Morrow, two guys who should be totally focused and worried about what is going on the ice, not talking about something "hilarious" during the game.

and we would have iced this game if the refs actually called a penalty when the Swiss player hacked Crosby in the face, causing him to bleed from his nose.

Im pretty sure their back up "beat Team Canada" last time. Guess Gerber should be given more credit, especially on this board then he was ever given.

The Canadian PP was awful so even if they got that 4 mins doesnt mean they would have scored.

So the blamming of the refs start now? Swiss had what? 14 mins in penatlies? It's the refs fault for missing a call?

Trying to justify what happend is kind of pathetic.

There is no way to justify this turd Canada threw up tonight. They got outworked, and it cost them, potentially severely.

Diddling disgraceful on home ice.

A medal? This game could very well leave Canada in 7th spot again.

I blame the Heatley syndrome, the got lazy and uninspired.

Outside of Doughty, Crosby, Nash, Toews and Bergeron, they all looked complacent.

Atleast we now know Luongo is our goalie moving forward.

No doubt. I'd like to remain positive though at this point. Bottom line, this game hurts like hell. This will be the one game we look back on should they not medal/do well.

Why? Im not saying I wouldnt go with Luongo because personally I would. That doesnt mean there is any justification for taking Brodure out based on the game he played. What goal was his fault? IMO he is the only reason they didnt lose tonight, in regulation or in the shootout.

Iginla was riding pine tonight. Way to go from being the hero to zero in the space of one game, Jarome!

This does not cost them whatsoever. If we won this game in regulation and then lost to the U.S., we would have lost the pool anyway. After the round robin, the points mean nothing and this game can be put into the past (even though most of you are overreacting, and we still got 2 points tonight).

Personally, I dont care a whole lot about this tournament but I do care about Canada. I much rather watch The Sens play then Team Canada, it's not even close. Stanley Cup over a Gold medal any day. That being said, it's still infuriating hearing how much better Canada is then everyone and people trying to believe what they say.

Canada is not all people make them out to be and this game should show it.

Canada can absolutely still win the gold here, they can beat any team in the world, but they wont if they dont stop believing the hype and get down to work. Guess what? Just because it's in Canada doesnt mean teams are going to let them win.

This game cost them in more ways then just with points. Teams know Canada is anything but unbeatable.

Points wise, this could cost them but if they do lose to the US, yeah, the result would basically be the same.

*Slow clap*

Against The Swiss. They should be pround.

Of course this game means nothing, ment nothing in Italy also, right?

People who say this game ment nothing, well, it might have ment nothing to Canada but there is no way other teams looked at this game and said "wow, Canada deserved that game and worked hard to get the win".

If the better nations outwork Canada, it will be lights out.

You are clueless apparently to the format this tournament is using. Let's say, the U.S. beats Canada in regulation. That leaves Canada with 5 points. Using the Sweden/Finland group as an example, let's say Sweden beats Finland, but Finland beats it's other two opponents in regulation, Finland would still have a minimum of 6 points (depending how they lost to Sweden). That puts them ahead of Canada for the 4th spot in the Medal round.

To say this doesn't cost them (potentially) is just plain ignoring the facts. Points do indeed count because of the format this tournament is being run under.

I doubt it, everyone knows Canada is the team to beat and they'll play 1-2-2 against us for the whole game and bring their A-game, because it's their only chance.

I'm sure their coaches fire them up how they're playing against arrogant millionaires etc.

They're professionals, they're not quaking in their jockstraps playing Canada, they come out and play extra hard against us to avoid humiliation and show they can compete.

As you've said, Canada needs to stop being arrogant and take every opponent seriously because they sure as hell take us seriously.

I'm pretty sure nobody thought that Canada was unbeatable, and I'm pretty sure that Canada knows Russia, U.S., Sweden, etc. aren't unbeatable either. Sweden was in tough against Germany and Norway had a good game vs. the U.S. today.
