Or it's their first game and they'll get better. Still too early IMO.

Hence why one of my options was "pulling a 'Canada'".

Pulling a "Canada" circa 2006? If so Canada lost 2-0 to the Swiss so Sweden would have needed the score to be in reverse for them to pull a Canada no?

Pulling a "Canada" circa 2010? If so Sweden came up short by 6 goals. scratch

I watched the game and Sweden looked very good. Once again, Alfie's line was the best. Granted he plays with a top 5 centre in the game but Forsberg and Zetterberg were deadly and Alfie's line was still better.
As for the Germans, they are clearly the best non-contending team. Played with structure and discipline, toughness and in your face. It looked like a Clouston type of coaching.

Don't over-analyze. Sometimes you just have to let analogies flow over you (points to who knows where I borrowed that line).

I simply meant "Pulling a 'Canada'" in the sense that they start off slowly, building up momentum as they went along.

Match ends 7-3 for Canada. They didn't stumble like they did against Norway.

Is the carpenter guy starting for Norway or did he officially get hurt in Canada's game. He didn't get pulled in the 3rd, apparently someone hit him and his neck locked on him.

Funnily, he makes more $$ in carpentry than he does in hockey - and (again apparently), he's an amazing carpenter.

It's 3-1 after 2. The US are outshooting Norway 23-9. Yes, it's "The Carpenter" in goal; Miller for the US.

Second period was very even. 8-7 shots on goal and 1-1 on the scoreboard. The penalty situation is not very even (4 calls against Norway and only 1 against the US) but none of the goals were on special teams. The US team is going to be in trouble if they continue playing like this.

they finished it 6-1, so Canada needs to keep the scoring up in case of a tie.

The US, after 2 games, have a +7 in goal differential, while Canada has +8 after 1 game. As long as we don't lose we'll still be ahead. I have a feeling we'll win by 3+.
