Yeah, well that Spezza turn over early on and Elliott making that save on the 2 on 1 with Parise taking the shot not only saved the SO it probably saved the game for The Sens and Spezza taking an absolutely ripping today.

Ya, well Elliott has a national championship with The Badgers and has worked his way from the 2nd last player picked in 03 to the starting goalie of an NHL club. He's already done more then anyone could have ever hoped for.

Unless we did our own chant. We could go with the Army motif that's been thrown at us and chant the tune of the saints go marching in. But that would be difficult.

We could also steal the Redskins chant, but change it to suit our needs:
Hail to the Senators,
Hail vic-to-ree
Sens on the warpath,
Fight, for all, OTeeeeeee. (or possibly 613, if said quickly enough)

Or we can use that really crappy Pepsi one, the Eh O. Senators Go! But that would be terrible.

That Eh Oh Canada Go chant is god awful. What couldn't they find a way to squeeze in the Bob and Doug McKenzie chant to make it a little more Canadian?

I think that's too complicated for a first chant.
Something similar to the Ole chant, I mean in terms of simplicity, would be good.
No idea how we're gonna start it though. May be the entire GMH community should go to a game and start it.

I was searching for chants online, and came across this soundboard that a their top 10.

My favourite, and the one the would work best for Ottawa, is number 3: "Stand up old people".

THe 3rd one would be good for motivational purposes, like a Go Sens Go.

But the Ole song is more like a victory chant, so we need one with the same purpose.
Something similar to the 5th one. May be we should convince the radio stations to organize a contest.

That would be really good. Team 1200 should seriously consider that. Or even an FM station to get more entries. Come one stupid Ottawa, make it happen.

I was at the game and it seemed like the Ole's were directed at Kovalev. maybe making feel like he was back in MTL? regardless I agree, and would fully support, a chant of our own. I was there for the first Alfie chant in the playoffs that caused him to score, possibly my favourite Sens moment of all time. But I did not like it when SBP tried to get people to do it by flashing it on the scoreboard. I can only dream of the day when spontaneous cheering because the norm and Sens fans no longer need prompting from the scoreboard to get loud. Dare to dream!

Our kids will be the ones who start it I think. It'll have to be, this generation sits on their hands way too much.

I was there too. That is my favourite Sens moment and is the reason for my Avatar. It was right about at the moment of that photo that the first ever arena wide chant begun.

I know my kids will, they won't have a choice! Smile The whole first generation fan base seems lost on my leaf fan friends who state how lame it is that there is not more Sens fans, I tell them, give us 5 generations and we will get there.
