I don't know maybe someone who watches them closer could refute that?

Dave? Da-AAA-ave!

(crickets chirping)

I guess he's not around.

They are on a 3 game winning streak and 8-1-1 in their last 10. Maybe they'll be a little tired ... of winning. The Sens can enter this game with the "It just doesn't matter" attitude of Bill Murray from "Meatballs". Nothing to lose. It's expected to be a slaughter, so just go out there and have fun. We are Team Kazakhstan going up against the '76/77 Canadiens.

I know their record but how they're winning is what I was referring to. Remember when, for example, Montreal went on a super long stretch of 1 goal wins with a bunch going to OT a few years back followed by a slump. Remember also a few years back when Buffalo kept having all these amazing come from behind wins followed by a collapse in the playoffs? 8-1-1 doesn't tell me a lot.

8-1-1 tells me they're winning a lot more than they lose. Good teams find ways to win. Over that span, they've outscored their opponents 44-26.

I'm sensing some homerism here...

Not at all. I was just hoping for a debate on their play not their stats. If you haven't heard the commentary and haven't watched the games it's easy to think they're dominating in all areas and have no problems what so ever.

Based on their record and their offensive stats we should be lambs to the slaughter.

Note: Sens have opted not to skate today.

I think it will be a good test. For everyone. I am assuming Elliot will play again today. It seems him having the 'flu' helped give him some motivation. Yesterday's game should have given him some confidence back ( I hope). A win against the Hawks is not inconceivable. 3-2 Ottawa

Might be smart, with back-to-back games

Their stats are great, but like you said, stats are stats. I have not watched them much if at all this season. But, I think if we play like we have over the past three games, getting the saves we need and getting the bounces/chances we have been, we'll be hanging with them and have a fair shot at getting two points. We're getting our confidence back and that goes a long way.

Well, if Alfie can remain Super human for just one more game then we've got a really good chance of winning. As long as Elliott plays solid and the team keeps playing as they have this should be 2 points for Ottawa.

I really don't like that first home game after a road trip though and I like it even less in a back to back situation vs. the best team in the league. Yeah I said it - They are better than the Sharks.

Or maybe Brodeur's two starts lit a bit of a fire under his a$$.

First game after a road trip is in the same league as Tim Thomas 10 straight wins against us. The record for teams coming back from long(ish) road trips is not 0 because every once in a while the home team wins.

Th Hawks went the distance and then some in their most recent outing against Detroit. The Wings aren't exactly a powerhouse anymore (although their record is better than ours in a stronger Conference). The Hawks can be beat, just like any team in this league. Will it be Huet or Niemi?

Says Huet is probably (not confirmed).

In the Philly game, it says Emery is confirmed as the starter. I didn't realize he was back already.

From what I've seen, they've been pretty amazing in every facet. Cam Barker has a case of the sucks right now though, so key in on him. But he's playing on the 3rd pairing and doesn't see too much ice.
