I think if we can continue the same play, get the solid goaltending and minimize their chances, we have a good shot.

Yeah, me too. Check the goals for and against comparison. WOW.

That side by side comparison is scary from top to bottom.

But the best team in the league wins 4-5 games out of every six, and lately they've been on a hot streak. Law of averages says they have to lose one sooner or later. In the NHL anything can happen on any given night.

Let's ignore the stats and just concentrate on what needs to be done. Give Elliott a lead and see what happens.

Chicago's on the road, just won 3 in a row, but the last one was a struggle against Detroit. Detroit isn't exactly bringing it this year, either. Maybe the young Hawks could be enticed by Ottawa's night life and stay out way, way too late tonight. Who am I kidding. Better hope that they try out skating on the canal and overdoes on Beaver-Tails.

By the way, Chicago recently played Boston and beat them 5-2. We just beat them 5-1. I'm just sayin'

How many times will Gord Wilson mention the 'difficulty of the first home game after a long road trip.' I put the over/under at 6, including the pre-game show.

4-3 Chicago in OT.

Seriously who cares if we get slaughtered. BOys are playing with heart, passion and determination. They are physical, fast and have that never give up mentality. Basically everything that was missing last year. Who cares about Chicago, we will be ready.

Get a quick lead and just watch that SV% soar.

I haven't been watching the Chicago games so take this for what it's worth but, the highlights and some of the commentary would suggest, to me anyway, that Chicago has struggled a bit in their own end and against some teams they should have easily trounced.

I don't know maybe someone who watches them closer could refute that?

Dave? Da-AAA-ave!

I guess he's not around.

They are on a 3 game winning streak and 8-1-1 in their last 10. Maybe they'll be a little tired ... of winning. The Sens can enter this game with the "It just doesn't matter" attitude of Bill Murray from "Meatballs". Nothing to lose. It's expected to be a slaughter, so just go out there and have fun. We are Team Kazakhstan going up against the '76/77 Canadiens.

*looks at Chi's record*

34-11-4

Hmmm.... I don't think they're struggling too much.

I know their record but how they're winning is what I was referring to. Remember when, for example, Montreal went on a super long stretch of 1 goal wins with a bunch going to OT a few years back followed by a slump. Remember also a few years back when Buffalo kept having all these amazing come from behind wins followed by a collapse in the playoffs? 8-1-1 doesn't tell me a lot.

8-1-1 tells me they're winning a lot more than they lose. Good teams find ways to win. Over that span, they've outscored their opponents 44-26.

I'm sensing some homerism here...

Not at all. I was just hoping for a debate on their play not their stats. If you haven't heard the commentary and haven't watched the games it's easy to think they're dominating in all areas and have no problems what so ever.

Based on their record and their offensive stats we should be lambs to the slaughter.
