GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Carolina Hurricanes - 5:00pm ET - Sun. Jan. 10th, 2010

The dude with the broken neck has not played a single game for them. It was an injury suffered in a bus crash last season (Albany). His rehab was not going well so he had to have another surgery in September. It's pointless to even say this is an injury because he never was a roster player (at least not yet).

Sens-killer Corvo is out, and that's good for us.

Staal is out because his sister-in-law recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was just 26. But that was four days ago and he may be back.

What I look forward to is a team that has scored fewer goals than we have, and has given up more than we have, and who takes almost the same number of penalties (although, frankly, who cares).

All that said, we're still going to need a strong effort from Leclaire.

This should be NBCs game of the week with all this star power.

Umm, yeah. Then, again, they draw lots of viewers for college games, and this would be like an AHL team, so at least this a professional-level players.

We are now in 7th place in the Eastern Conf... tied with Montreal in points, and they sit 8th. We have 2 games in hand over Montreal. A win today is pretty important... I fear a loss will be devastating to the team in general.

It's when we slip into 9th that the wins become critical

I just hope our morale can get a boost tonight. Last night's game just seemed like they were throwing in the towel.

Can we trade Garrioch - he's got to go - he doesn't bring anything positive to hockey in Ottawa.

Get Galley or York to do the Ottawa Sun stuff - guys with some credibility.

I'd trade garrioch for a bag of rocks that I could then pelt brennan with.

By the way, add Ruutu to your injury list. Apparently he's gone for a couple weeks with a shoulder injury.

EDIT: Never mind, he's on the ice. When Mendes said Ruutu was gone for two weeks, I figured it was Jarkko.

Asq3 didn't really give all the info. It is not as bad as it sounds. It was only a 37 second 5 on 3 and the faceoff started in the Sens end. Carolina won the faceoff and by the time Karlsson grabbed the puck and rushed up the ice, gained the zone there was only 26 seconds left. It was actually a decent little PP.
