St. Louis should be there over Bergeron. What has Bergeron ever done? St. Louis has lots of international experience, has won a stanley cup and is an all heart player with tons of skill. Bergeron is good too but St. Louis is just better in every way.

Who's saying anything negative about Thornton? I guess with the exception that he's a true-blue choker, but he still should be on the team.

I'm not so sure this will have the physical intensity of the NHL playoffs, except maybe Canada/Russia.

If you think Canada/USA isn't going to be one of the most physical games in Olympic history...you're out to lunch big guy.

My remark was that Yzerman probably has a beef with Tampa. It's pretty Diddled up.

Good point. The Yanks should be characteristically dirty for that one. Team Canada roster -- Fisher got jobbed - Page 12 159628

How was Brad Richards left off of the roster in favor of a guy who's spent more time getting his concussion issues sorted out than playing hockey?

Maybe they realize he'll be concussed before the Olympics start and just wanted him to have the thrill of being named to the team? Sarcasm

I think they have a quota on the number of Richards that are allowed on a roster. Cool

I guess a Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup and career PPG playoff scoring record don't mean much anymore these days...makes sense in every way for Bergeron to be on this team. Have you seen his list of accolades? He's won..........................a world junior championship. Mind you it was the single most stacked team Canada ever sent to a world junior competition.

Here's a bold prediction: Canada is going to lose it's first round game to the USA.

Usually players who are branded "winners" are almost automatic for these things. Even in sub-par seasons. Only he's 3rd among forwards in NHL scoring. Team Canada roster -- Fisher got jobbed - Page 12 235689 Team Canada roster -- Fisher got jobbed - Page 12 805406

Let's not go crazy, if they lose, it'll be to Russia IMO.

There's no argument about it...Patrice Bergeron, who's 56th in league scoring, should for sure be making it over Brad Richards, 7th.

I would have been LIVID if Richards was taken over Bergeron.

Are you serious? USA is going to have one of the best teams they've ever sent to the Olympics.

Here's their first PP unit:

Kessel - Kane - Parise - Rafalski - Bogosian

Here's their second PP unit:

Brown - Stastny - Ryan - Suter - Whitney

They might be leaving Gionta, Pomminville, Komisarek, Connolly, Oshie, Byfuglien, Okposo, etc. off the team.

AND, they have the best goaltender in the world right now.

Too bad about Fisher not being on it.

I'm NOT surprised at Phaneuf or Bouwmeester not being named to it.

Doughty... he must have impressed. I've not watched him a lot so he was not even on my radar.

Other than that, looks good.

That kid is the future of Team Canada's blueline. I've been watching as many Kings games as I can this year, this kid is generational. He'll have a monopoly on the Norris trophy as he gets older.
