Thornton will be great and him and Heatley will do just fine. If not they could always put Heatley with Nash and Getzlaf then Thornton can pretty much pass to anyone. Its Marleau that Im worried about. Oh well I guess we'll just have to wait and see, in the meantime GO CANADA GO!

I'm not convinced they keep that line intact. I'm pretty sure they'll try Nash and Heatley together but that's just an opinion.

If they do the smart thing and pair Heatley with Geatzlaf and Nash then Thornton and Marleau are overkill and could have been replaced with players who are "gamechangers" (e.g. either by burning (St-Louis) or by decking (Fisher or Doan) someone from the other team).

The typical Dung...we went around the league looking for players, his name came up...don't know what that means. A bunch of fluff. They pretty much admitted that they picked him at 6 am this morning.

The guy with a higher ppg than all but 2 or 3 players in the entire league isn't a game changer ? I agree that Fisher, Doan, St. Louis, Stamkos, Smyth, Carter, and a number of others would have been fine picks, but Thornton has sat atop the league leaders in points for this entire season. He also has a knack for turning J.Cheechoo's and D.Seto's into top scorers. I really don't see how that remains a question mark for people.

What we should do is lobby the IIHF and the IOC to allow Canada to field two teams for every tournament.

Im surprised of people's reaction to Thornton, I thought everyone assumed he was on as much as Iginla

Thornton should be on the team no question. He's leading the league in points right now and he has lots of international experience.

The pick I really don't like is Bergeron and possibly Morrow. There were better players out there.
