If I would have told you that Fisher will be our #1 centre for a portion of the season at the start, people would have penciled us into the 12th spot in the EC

What I can't understand is how everyone craps on the pros opinion but takes peoples opinion from the freaking internet at face value.

You guys may not like Pierre but man know more about the game then anyone on this site, that is a fact! Doesn't mean he isn't occasionally wrong

I'll bet if most guys on this site got paid to watch and attend hockey games they'd have better insight than that bald, frontrunning phony. GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. Dec. 16th, 2009 - Sens win 2-0! - Page 6 797712

Also a fact.

It's not like Mike FIsher has suddenly become a revelation this year. I haven't seen a lot different things in Mike FIsher's game compared to previous seasons, except may be more patience with the puck and the fact that he is more confident when he shoots. Most importantly, he is playing with guys who can actually make a pass to his stick, and that he is on the 1st PP UNit (which is not even taht good compared to previous years). In previous years, Fisher was always close to PPG when playing with Alfredsson, and his PP time were secondary, if not non-existant.
This year he leads the team in PP goals, because Clouston has given him, for the first time ever, the chance.
Compare that to Spezza's career without Alfredsson on his wing, and now take his PP time away, and I think this season's stats are explained. MOst importantly, even if he doesn't score, you'll never complain about his effectiveness.
I don't even mind Spezza's lack of production that much, I think he tries but he either cannot do it when hurt or he's just not that consistently good.

Maybe he's part of the problem? GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. Dec. 16th, 2009 - Sens win 2-0! - Page 6 235689 GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. Dec. 16th, 2009 - Sens win 2-0! - Page 6 805406

Let's not blame circumstances for Fisher's past numbers. His hard work is paying off and that's good but he's had plenty of support from teammates and coaches over the years? How many times have lines been juggled to "get Fish going"? Lots.

OR may be he's slowly been finding his offensive game? If at 27 Spezza gets a pass for learning the defensive game, why wouldn't we give Fisher the pass for learning to score more goals ? Or perhaps Carrie UNderwood is a reincarnation of a hockey god?

Sure. I'll buy that. Not that Fisher hasn't had his share of passes too. But still.

Clouston post-practice presser from today:

Campoli is indeed playing forward tonight. Foligno has a lower body injury, no further details, no timetable for return, tests being done today.

Elliott starts tonight.

Miller goes for the Sabres.

anyone know how many man-games lost to injury the sens are at? I keep searching but get old results from previous years.

Campoli will see time on line 4 and still play the PP. Kind of an interesting move - no real need to call Keller or St.Pierre or Bass or Smith up on a night to night basis when we have scratches already.

Yeah, it will depend on how bad Foligno is.

Nice to hear that Leclaire and Neil will be back soon.

That is your opinion not a fact. He has that job for a reason, he has a cup ring for a reason, he was considered for the GM job in Minny for a reason, you post on the internet for a reason.

I don't see how being follically challenged has anything to do with and what do you mean by phony?

But...if it was bad, they would have called up St.Pierre or one of those guys. So, by deduction, it must be 'not' bad. Ahhhhh!

He's good at keeping himself in the spotlight and repeating his "credentials". I'm sure that helps when people are looking to fill positions in the NHL.

Maybe phony isn't the best word. I was trying to find a word that meant "full of Dung ".

In this case, my opinion is fact. Spank you very much. GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. Dec. 16th, 2009 - Sens win 2-0! - Page 6 95132

There's a little difference. McGuire doesn't watch 100% of Sens games, most fans on this site do. So IMo his insights are more "league-wise" and he sure knows a lot. So basically the range is not exactly the same, so I wouldn't compare them.

Just FYI, I like McGuire's opinion for the most part and I think he is one of the most knowledgable in the business GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. Dec. 16th, 2009 - Sens win 2-0! - Page 6 Icon_wink

Have the tests been done yet? They were only being done today - so they would not have the full set of info yet... and they needed a guy tonight... if the results today are bad and he's out long term, I suspect we'll see Keller called up.
