Ruutu's hit was not dirty in the least. That's how I saw it. Am I wrong?

He had his sights on Kaleta's head, it was a deliberate head shot.

No room in the game for that nonsense

He needs to adjust his sights because he apparently missed.

The "small fine" supports that. It's a good way for the NHL to insist they were right to give him five minutes while knowing they were dead wrong.

Then Ruutu needs to get his eye prescription adjusted, because he couldn't possibly have missed more than he did.

If Ruutu wanted to, Kaleta would be in intensive care right now, eating through a straw.

I was waiting to see video to show me the proof that it was a dirty head shot as everybody seems to claim it was. I thought I was missing something, to be honest.

The video only proves that it wasn't even close.

Kaleta's stupid shoulder got in the way of a direct hit.

Right. "intent"...

I suppose the NHL should have given us those goals that should have gone in if that stupid post didn't get in the way too. GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Wed. From TSN's Ice Chips today:

The Senators will be without forward Nick Foligno for a couple of weeks as he will undergo a knee scope.

Both goaltender Pascal Leclaire and forward Chris Neil were on the ice as Senators practice today. Both are still targeting December 23rd to make their return to the Sens lineup. - TSN

Beauty news about Leclaire and Neil.

Schubert II

Schubert was a grinder with no potential to add more than 5 goals, 15 points. Campoli can put up 30 from the back end...I'd bet on him being able to top 40 up front (assuming last night wasn't an abberation).

I totally agree. I used Schubert as a general comparison in terms of a dman playing forward. Campoli impressed me. Schubert post cup-run... not so much.

Make sure you cross the border and mail it from a US post office if you want it to get read. Wink

I can't disagree more. You can clearly see in the opposite angle Kaleta's helmet moving first and then his head pressing against the glass. I am not sure what everyone else is seeing here?! and I hate Kaleta. Ruutu in stating his own defense acknowledges he hit Kaleta's head into the glass but maintained it was a clean hit.

I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Aside from some very bizarre officiating that was the most exciting 2 to nothing game I've watched in a long time. I know Miller made more highlight reel saves than Elliott but that's not to say Elliott didn't make a few key amazing ones himself. Shot difference was also only 27 for Ottawa 21 for the Sabres.

All that to say Elliott should have gotten the nod for first star when you factor in Miller allowing 2 and Elliott allowing none.

Miller disallowed like 7, Elliott maybe 2...

There was more than two from where I was sitting.

Big time saves? I don't think there were.

Miller was fantastic; Elliott was very good.

I think Elliott agrees with Gohan:

“Obviously you go into every game wanting to stop every puck,” Elliott said. “I was able to make all the saves I should and maybe a couple I shouldn’t.”
