For some reason he seems more effective out on even strength. But yeah, if that's what it takes for him to get some of that goal-scoring mojo back, then I'm all for it.

Unluckiest player I have ever seen in my life. With any luck this year he would be on pace for 20 goals. He was fantastic tonight and was The Sens best player.

I've really never seen anything like it, it's insane how unlucky this dude is. He needs to score a few in consecutive games to get his confidence back a little.

he can go on the first pp line if he agrees to wear a shock collar that gives him a strong jolt when he strays more than 10 feet from the crease.

Cheechoo did play his best game as a sen but he needs to string together a few of these before the team even dreams of not waiving or trading him.

Trading him is a dream. This is a guy that no one wanted for free from SJ.

I would be fine waiving him to make space, but he needs to be here come playoff time. He's going to show his true worth to this team at that point.

Why would they do anything beside play the lineup that has won 12 of their last 13? Trade or waive him for what reason? What the Diddle would be the point of messing with an entire lineup that is working so well?

I hope you are talking about the off season because right now if Cheechoo was waived or traded I would be outraged because you dont Diddle with a winning team. There isnt a player in the league that could be available that I would add to this team right now because of how well they are playing as a unit. Dont care if Cheechoo was making 7 mil right now, he's a part of the team that is ripping up the league.

I think you look at the deadline. If there is something that makes you better and it means waiving or trading him you do it. Not for the sake of it however.

That said at the end of the year he's gone unless he plays like he did tonight for the rest of the year. Tonight was the first night he looked like the player he is paid to be.

He had some good games on the western road trip and has had way more good then bad. He should have 15 goals right now (should have had 3 tonight) if it wasnt for his bad luck.

He shows up in the playoffs, every year, he always produces. Not giving him a shot to show what he can do on that stage would be criminal. He isnt holding the team back from anything and basically was the reason (because of Clouston) they won that game tonight.

The good news for him is that he has earned (you have to think) another game with Spezza and Michalek.

He's definitely earned another shot up there but at this point I wouldn't go so far as saying he's earned another game. I'm not sure if you meant it that way or not but, I say start him on that line or at least top 6 and see if he can produce. I imagine Clouston has him on a short leash and would bump him down to 4th line duties if he's not working out up there early on.

I don't see any reason for him not to get an extended look with Spezza and Michalek - possibly for the balance of games remaining before the Olympic break.

Maybe Spezza's goal-scoring can rub off on him and he can get rolling with some goals. I've said this before and I'll say it again, this guy just needs to get a couple to go in before the floodgates open. He's in position, he's skating hard, he's in on the forecheck, he's going to the dirty areas, it's just a matter of the finish now and it looks like it's so close to happening.

I should have clarified my thoughts on this. I totally agree that Cheechoo should be up there with Spezza and Michalek. It worked early on coincidently or not.

I just don't know if Clouston will allow him that much time.

Personally I can't argue with his line adjustments last game that's for sure. We've seen Clouston do this before and it's exciting to think that we have a coach that will make adjustment and they pay off.

I am not sure I can reconcile this with the fact that San Jose was a playoff bust?!

I would agree he was one of the better Sens tonight, if not the best. It is the first game in his short history here that I can say that. I would like to see many more but the best prediction of future behaviour is past behaviour. That would suggest this game was a blip. Hope not but I am very leery of thinking he could be a real contributor...

Actually, he was probably the best player against the Leafs too.

Be that as it may, it's a testament to his consistent effort.
