What happened to Neil and Carker?

Seriously guys, the main topic here should be what the hell is happening with Spezza. This was the game to really show he wants to be the guy and that didnt come close to happening.

He has only registered a point in 8 friggin games, that is shocking and really concerning...

The one and only time I can ever see a character guy like Carkner not even caring about the outcome of a game is when he broke something and needed to get the hell off.

I'd be pleasantly shocked if this was anything other than a break.

We hope to heck Fisher's coming back tomorrow and you give him Alfredsson as a linemate once and for all. Then you take Michalek and you put him there with Fisher and Alfredsson. Then you hopefully get Kovalev back and you put him on the RW with Spezza with Foligno on the left wing.

Why? Because Spezza's in a huge slump, I want Fisher with Alfie and Michalek 5 on 5 and I want to see if we put Kovalev with Spezza for a while if it can jump start one or the other.

Spezza will have to start scoring soon though. Really...need it badly.

Hopefully Z.Smith has his bags packed to come up here. Probably D.Smith as well for Carkner as well.

Geez. We're gonna have to gut a few games out here.

I actually think Chris Kelly is a better hockey player at this point. Kelly and Spezza both have registered points in 8 games this year. Kelly is part of one of the leagues best PK's, Spezza is leading the NHL's worst PP.

Considering the amount of ice time Kelly gets compared to Spezza, that's shocking.

It is. He's definitely very conscious of being a "2-way" player - and that's great, but we need him to loosen up a bit to be honest. He's been gripping his stick and looking for his confidence for a long, long time now. Hopefully he gets both his confidence and some luck soon.

That, or he just isnt a very effective player when the he doesnt have 2 of the top wingers on the planet with him... He has no clue what to do or how to actually make those around him better.

Well he might have a clue but doesnt have the ability to do it.

Meh, I don't know really. Alfie's one of the best wingers still to this day and he's having issues as well now. It's confidence and that'll come back. At least if all else fails the guy can pass like crazy. He hasn't lost that - although I see the point in him losing his 50 goal guy.

PS Sorry Devo, but I will never again go for the Devils. Tonight I fully realized that I loathe this Devils team and their style of play. Blah...get lost. Toronto and Montreal are the only teams I dislike as much.

Right at the end of the PP at the end of the third. He blocked a shot with his wrist and was doubled over getting to the bench, then literally we straight to the dressing room. Like, the last thing on his mind was that it was the final minute of a 2-1 game, he was out of there. Makes me nervous - BIG time.

Alfi is 37 frigging years old, it's all down hill from here for him in terms of production. If we are counting ona 37 year old winger on the down side to get a 26 year year old, 7 million dollar, in his prime center to get going... well you finish my thought.

Seriously, is this teams record ANY different without Spezza? I actually think it would be better. The 8 games he has registered a point, 4 of them were losses. In all the games The Sens have won this year, Spezza has put up at least 1 point in 4 games.

He has to get going in a huge way, imagine if The Sens were losing right now? Wow, Spezza would be crucified.

All I want is for Spezza to get on a role. I know Alfie's 37, but he's still awesome - and all of a sudden so is Fisher. All I want now is for Spezza to get going - and Kovalev too, but I won't ask for too much. Spezza to get going, that's what I want. Not to hear that he might be traded or done at 26 or whatever, I want him to get going.

Our goaltending has been really good all year long as well as tonight, our defense seems to be coming together, once it's healthy it could very well be decent, still need that number 1 guy though.

So many good things going on in Ottawa right now and I like the team Murray is building, but really... Spezza was front and center for 2 of the 3 goals tonight and will drag the team down with his on ice sulking (which is going on now).
