Seriously, is this teams record ANY different without Spezza? I actually think it would be better. The 8 games he has registered a point, 4 of them were losses. In all the games The Sens have won this year, Spezza has put up at least 1 point in 4 games.

He has to get going in a huge way, imagine if The Sens were losing right now? Wow, Spezza would be crucified.

All I want is for Spezza to get on a role. I know Alfie's 37, but he's still awesome - and all of a sudden so is Fisher. All I want now is for Spezza to get going - and Kovalev too, but I won't ask for too much. Spezza to get going, that's what I want. Not to hear that he might be traded or done at 26 or whatever, I want him to get going.

Our goaltending has been really good all year long as well as tonight, our defense seems to be coming together, once it's healthy it could very well be decent, still need that number 1 guy though.

So many good things going on in Ottawa right now and I like the team Murray is building, but really... Spezza was front and center for 2 of the 3 goals tonight and will drag the team down with his on ice sulking (which is going on now).

Well, he has to work hard for things to go his way and even that has stopped. If he's going out there expecting to get lucky without an effort he's in a lot of trouble. That's what's going on right now.

I'm at work and didn't watch the game. It is recorded at home and I'll check it out when I get home.

I did catch last game and based on that one Spezza is definitely hurting. His posture on the faceoffs and his lumbering, slow strides suggest to me it's his back.

From all I have ever seen from Spezza, he isn't going to play well through any significant injury. $7mil is the kind of money you pay a guy who can play through it all but we're out of luck on that front, at least this far in his career. I agree that Spezza should take the time off to heal up, he's next to useless right now.

Fisher was paid $6 mil last year but also had an awful year playing through injury. He's rebounded this year now that he's healthy. I'm hoping Spezza can do the same during the remainder of this season.

Fisher's 2nd 1/2 of the year was fantastic. People soon forget that the FFS line was The Sens number 1 line by a large margin once Shannon was put on that line.

Right now though, something needs to be done with Cheechoo, I really thought he could recapture something here and get going, but he just cant play in The NHL right now... he is really done as an NHLer or at least an effective one, which is really sad because he has tons of character and works hard every night, but gotta call a spade a spade, he's done.

As for Spezza, well, Ive said it all so.

Geez. We're gonna have to gut a few games out here.

When did Carks get hurt??

Right at the end of the PP at the end of the third. He blocked a shot with his wrist and was doubled over getting to the bench, then literally we straight to the dressing room. Like, the last thing on his mind was that it was the final minute of a 2-1 game, he was out of there. Makes me nervous - BIG time. Ohnoes!

Carks is a warrior, as long as it's not his punching hand, he'll be fine. Unless, as you said, it's broken.

Kovalev will slide back in the lineup for Neil, but will it be Smith or Karlsson for Carkner ? My guess is Derek Smith.

Yeah, I think Derek Smith gets the call. He was impressive in camp and has been fairly solid down in Bingo by all accounts. He deserves the call for sure.

No one's really talking about it, so maybe he's okay.... Uhoh!

I missed the third period. Is Picard OK?

My guess, with Lee playing adequately and Volchenkov imminently coming back, is that they'll do everything in their power to not call Karlsson up, so that his ELC slides.

That means Derek Smith's next in line, and then probably Craig Schira.

PIvard is ok, played pretty well in the 3rd.

Picard has been solid all year long, tonight was no different.

I just meant that I saw him lying on the ice at one point with the trainer there. I guess he's not seriously injured.

Yeah I know, he looked totally fine.

Now I'm off to watch the future Captain of the Sens GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ New Jersey Devils - 7:00pm EST - Wed. Nov. 25th, 2009 - Page 18 54934

I think it's going to be Karlsson personally, I think he has those leadership qualities that will eventually put him above all the tallent he had.
