All The Spezza lovers, lets hear it!!! Let me hear how good the 7 million dollar stud is.

Nobody is saying that Spezza is playing like a stud, he's playing like Diddling Dung. All I was saying is a I hope he's injured because if not, this is not a player I want to watch for much longer

It's not. Spezza had depended on 2 of the best wingers in the game for years, his point were always inflated because of this and now it's clear as day. Alfi is 37 and not as effective as he once was and Heatley is gone.

Spezza could hang out at the blueline and it owuldnt make a difference. Teams know how to stop him, they have known for a long time. He isnt a smart player, a hard working player, or honestly, anything better then the average 2nd line center. He's Mike Rebiero, that's his equal, and even then, I dont think he's even that good.

Spezza isnt capable of playing an all around game, he isnt capable of playing a team first game. Fisher is this teams number 1 center by a large margin. I would actually take Kelly over Spezza at this point at equal salary. Kelly is actually effective on his special team assignment.

I give Spezza all the benefit of the doubt though, because:
1/ He was awesome just 4 games ago, even when he was not scoring. Dung play only started against Washington.
2/ Heard on the radio today that Spezza is always the 1st guy on the ice at practice, trying to practice his shot.

How the hell do we go through a second game this year without a PP. That's F'in ridiculous.

Thank God, even I was buying the "this is just a transition thing" kool-aid... not anymore. No excuse for what he has become, every year for 4 straight seasons his production has went down. I really tried to believe, I did, people might say Im flip flopping, but I TRIED to be positive in regaurds to Spezza, he just isnt a number 1 center. IMO, he is officially the most over paid player in The NHL.

You need your best players to draw those penalties and really get in on the forecheck, get in the firty area's... Only guy I saw doing that was Michalek and Alfi was pretty good when he had the puck, def set a few guys up... other then that, who else is there to really help those two out.

Most boring game of the year, seriously. Kovalev would have helped today for the entertainment value.

Lol, I highly doubt he does that for the "show"

Yeah really. Hard work usually generates at least one per game. Absolutely ridiculous. So much for a penalty being a penalty and everything getting called down to the letter of the law.

He's probably working his Donkey off but the truth of the matter is he is an over rated hockey player (not so much anymore) and has been for a long time, especially by the fan base in Ottawa.

He was playing hard working hockey before The Pitts game IMO, he wasnt playing the kind of hockey that makes a difference, he's supposed to. Hard working hockey is what Chris Kelly plays, I mean people cry about his salary, Jesus Christ, Spezza makes 7 million and is less effective.

ON another note, our defensemen did have a better game defensively. A PP would have helped in the 3rd.

Ya, well your best players have to draw those penalties and step up when guys go down, Michalek was solid, Alfi was good and defently tried to get some things going, other then that there was nothing.

Kelly had a few good shifts with Ruutu. You know what, it's actually pretty bad when Chris Kelly is creating a lot more scoring chances then Spezza... like WTF.

Losing Carkner and Neil will really hurt in the toughness department tomorrow night and especially if they're not back Saturday against Boston.

No A Train, Fisher, Neil, or Carkner... no toughness what so ever. Thank God it's Columbus though and they might not need it.

What happened to Neil and Carker?

Seriously guys, the main topic here should be what the hell is happening with Spezza. This was the game to really show he wants to be the guy and that didnt come close to happening.

He has only registered a point in 8 friggin games, that is shocking and really concerning...

The one and only time I can ever see a character guy like Carkner not even caring about the outcome of a game is when he broke something and needed to get the hell off.

I'd be pleasantly shocked if this was anything other than a break.
