Whatever, 4th line was good, again. Defense was awful, was looking for the puck all night.
With all the circumstances already mentionned by everybody, I can forgive this.

There might be merit to these Campbell rumors I think. Especially if they can move a contract like Cheechoo's the other way coupled with one of the excess forwards/defensemen we have.

This squad is one top pairing defenseman away from doing some serious damage in the Eastern conference.
i'm still hoping cheechoo could come around. but cambell and beech for cheechoo, Lee and shannon? GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Oct. 29th, 2009 - Page 14 159628
i rather keep kelly at this point. he looked alright tonight plus with him and mickaleck we have one of the top PK in the league.

Kelly is way too valuable to The Sens to trade. DOnt care what hes making playing on the 4th line. You can plus him anywhere, plays the PK, its pretty obvious now and should be to most people.

Nice catch by you.

You are gonna have to give up Picard or Campoli, prob Campoli with the way Chicago is made up, they will need a guy who can step in and play a similar role to Campbell. Im absolutely all for getting Campbell because that's exactly what we need.

Murray should wait for Campoli to make a few games scoring streaks, then call Hawks management. Cheechoo has to go though. That's an imperative condition for us to take that contract.

On another note, Kuba has started to shoot more. Like it.

I'm so disgusted right now.

This is a joke. This is exactly why I don't like Sens fans probably...the sky starts falling in for them SO quickly it's ridiculous.

Second half of a back to back with Leclaire, Spezza and Volchenkov on the shelf while the Tampa Bay are sitting around with a 3-0-2 record at home with more than enough days for rest.

Get a clue guys.

Relax, I posted just before you, relaaaax.

If you wanna trash Lee, Im all aboard though.

have to agree... lee was terrible. on two of those goals he just stood in front of the net like a deer caught in the lights.
not what you want to see on his first night being called up. send him back? yes me think so... who's next on down the latter appart from karlsson?

i did like regin's play though... man is he NHL ready. lots of good plays and he positioned himself quite well. even managed to sneak up on opposing players to steal the puck. i like.

kovy was looking slightly better... but that's not saying much.
you could certainly feel the absence of spezza tonight. heal fast my man.

Derek Smith who is out scoring Lee in Bingo, has a better plus/minus, and is much more of an offensive threat.

Watch some pre season a little more carefully dude, because he was fairly impressive for the most part when he was in the lineup. Def a guy to keep an eye on and should get a shot. Hope that answers your question.
i wish i could of watched more pre-season games but from montreal i think i caught 2 max. why don't they get picked up for TV? don't know but i wish they did.

i still think campoli should stay and i'd rather would see picard go. i agree they'd probably want campoli. i was just trying to say that we could flip them "the extra".

i'm not on the "negative cheechoo" bandwagon yet, but i have to admit that i'm more then ready to see him net one. as for kelly i might have called his name in the past to be traded but there is such a high value to having the number 1 PK in the league that it's underestimated when your lacking in the offencive departement. those 2-1, 3-2 games will often be due to the PK. anyway salary wise we don't look so bad at the moment.
now let's go thrash Atlanta!!! GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Oct. 29th, 2009 - Page 14 797712

First regulation loss in 2 1/2 weeks. I saw this loss coming a mile away. No big deal.

I wouldn't be all over Cheechoo if he helped the team. In fact I wouldn't be all over him if he didn't hurt the team, but just watch him, he is terrible. Doug Wilson wins executive of the year for unloading him.

How has he hurt the team? Last night's game he was very effective on that 4th line. He's good along the boards. Granted if he isn't going to produce, he's not worth his salary.

Tonight's game was to be expected. Stupid schedule has Tampa sitting at home for 5 days waiting for the Sens to come in on the 2nd half of a back to back. They simply have more energy.
Penalties, very slow and late on the back check and he lost almost every board battle.

In all honesty, one more game like that from Lee and he should be sent right back down. He was just brutal on all levels tonight. How can a guy get the call from The AHL with a real chance to stick and play so soft, so poor, so uninspired?

I really hope we get a look at Derek Smith, if not, just bring Karlsson up and give him the real shot he deserved with Kuba to begin with.

At least if I'm Karlsson I dont take it personally at this point because he defently knows he isnt that bad.

Arbuthnot's Frozen Pool, which is a fantastic fantasy tool that tells you all kinds of information about current line combos, is a (new) prominent feature on the Dobber site -- of which Notch (aka Steve Johnson) is a prominent member.

Notch, for better or worse, is a member of Dobber's inner circle. He's a mod, writer, and participant in Dobber's expect league pool. And if you think Dobber doesn't know what he's talking about, shut your mouth, visit the site for an afternoon, and think again. That guy and his team follow hockey up and down, OHL to AHL to NHL and back again.

Still, yea -- high likelihood that cloverleaf = Notch, good eye N4L. Still, while Notch may not of endeared himself to us over here -- his dogged assurance that Leclaire WILL get injured, and that Heatley WILL be part of the Senators on opening night (LOL!) got more than a little annoying -- I think we could actually mutually benefit from a less hostile relationship with him. The reputation of Dobber's site is 100 fold what that of this place is, rightly or wrongly. We've got, what, 200+ members? Dobber has 20,000 plus -- members who pay for his guide and for the Frozen pool, and who post, post, post like mad. This is the wrong fight to pick. We can disagree and still respect each other.

Brutal game.

Can't believe anyone would want to swing a trade based on 1 game, we're gonna lose ugly games like this due to injuries, fatigue etc.

The real test is how they bounce back on Saturday. If we go on a Toronto-style losing streak then we start worrying.

On a positive note, I think Michalek has had a breakaway in every game so far... I don't think I'm exaggerating... He's got unreal speed, and just always seems to be able to get behind the opposing D.. Really can't say enough good things about this guy...

Well, not so much get rid of players as opposed to adding one. Campbell would be perfect in Ottawa.

So, Neely, what were your thoughts on Lee tonight? GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Oct. 29th, 2009 - Page 14 159628

I was a little disappointed no one went after Foster after he blindsided Kelly on that partial break-away. Good on Ruutu to fight, though.

Dude, it's fantasy hockey. I get some people love it but what actually happens stats wise has about zero baring on what is actually happening in The NHL and with team success.

People who can put together a stat sheet, for the most part, seem to think they know a lot more about the actual game then they really do.

Dont think you can go after Foster there, that was just a great defensive play. Earlier on Kovalev, that was a little cheap-ish but Foligno went right after the guy.

Lee is just brutal, he has a long ways to go until he is a full time NHL D man. I can say with a lot of certainty at this point, he will never be a full time guy in Ottawa.

Also, this isnt ment to as a knock on anyone who likes that fantasy stuff, but this is a site where the game is discussed with a lot of people that know there stuff. For the most part there are not a lot of people here who come on and make stupid statements, uninformed statements, or people that show a real lack of knowledge.

This is obviously a Sens friendly site but for the most part there are no real meat head sens fans who are painfully obvious ignorant to anything that isnt Ottawa related.

Im glad this isnt a fantasy site because there is good convo here. Over at HB, they may collectivly be the dumbest group of hockey fans on the planet. Couple guys I like what they have to say even if I dont agree, but for the most part its pretty sad.
