So I'll allow people to explain their view on that because Shannon will NEVER be the player Cheechoo is/was/will be even if he struggles.

Because Shannon has established himself as a "fan favourite". You know, hard working, tenacious, speedy. If you can rate highly in the popularity contest in Ottawa, you're good. Results matter less at that point. I'd give other examples but I'd be accused of some sort of bias. GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. I literally called Cheechoo a piece of Dung on many occasions. He turned me around with his PLAY. I'm even starting to think that the knocks on his skating are greatly exaggerated.

Oh, you must be talking about Magnus Arvedson, then. Or Wade Redden prior to Chara leaving. GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 159628

Redden for sure.

Isn't he actually doing pretty well now?

Redden for sure.

He's always done "pretty well" just not 6.5 million dollars worth and not enough for me to be subjected to hearing "elite defenseman" attached to his name over and over again while he was a Senator.

They were booing Chara at the game GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 489887

I never noticed that we're like Habs fans (booin former players) GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 270956

Yeah, well, there are plenty of Habs fans with season tickets to the Sens. Remember, they were booing Kovalev in his first *home* game. Maybe the ones booing Chara are actually Habs fans Smile

I find it pretty Diddled up that we have to wait until Wednesday for a game. GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 555492

According to the Sens twitter, Karlsson and Regin aren't skating with the team today.

Maybe it's some Scandinavian holiday. Celebrated only by those under 30.

Or they're just a banged up or have the flu. Lots of time until the next game.

According to Brent Wallace, they have the flu.

Kuba is practicing with the team though GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 226479

Yeah. Which should have the opposite effect. So I say again, GAME DAY: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Oct. 24th, 2009; and post game debate - Page 15 555492

In that case there's a very good chance he'll be ready for Wednesday night. Yeah! Here comes the PP climbing out of the basement.

That was STUPID on so many levels. I was embarrassed.

When Kuba finally does return it'll be interesting to see how much of an impact he makes.

Actually they only started booing when Chara put one of the Sens player down after a check (dont remember who), and the refs missed it.

Agreed, he's a big part of the team and PP. It seems no other defenseman can really replace him.

Our PP should become better, Clouston said as much.
