Thursday nights are hopeless for us -- NBC has their lineup of comedies (P&R, Office, eventually 30 Rock), then there's Fringe and I'm sure I'm leaving something out. I can't record the game. I guess I'll have to watch is upstairs on the little screen.
West coast feeds?
I used to get Basic, Networks and pay $1 extra for the West coast feeds. Then Rogers called me up and said I'd be doing better if I took the VIP (they didn't tell me how many times they'd raise the VIP rates while removing perks over the next two years). Anyhow, VIP does not include the US West Coast feeds, although I still have most of the Canadian ones. But those are all SD and I have become incapable of watching SD (unless I have no choice).
Which reminds me, Rogers guy called me up yesterday, offering this "great" deal because I am a loyal customer. $31.31 for local telephone with two features and 500 LD minutes (US/Canada) every month. He also claimed it will never go up (I think he meant it was not just an introductory offer, then I also asked "What about next year or the year after" and he still insisted that "No, it will never go up" -- come to think of it, he said the call was being recorded for quality control purposes, hmmm). That's a bit better than my average bill with Bell, where I have *no* special features. Then with bundling I'd also be able to get 10% off my entire bill.
Thing is, I checked their website, and it's not a "great" deal, it's offered to everybody. I want perks for being loyal, and hell, give me a bribe to be disloyal to Bell. Also, I'm now on a one-year 20% discount, with just two services.
You think I can do better? What should I ask for? Maybe the west-coast US-HD feeds? Or another 5%off?
