GM Hockey Fantasy Pool Standing & Discussion

OK, so this is ... umm ... different. I'm not missing the skulls yet, but give me a few more minutes and I can probably learn to hate it

By the way, the PI (Players Injured) column in the pool is using way-stale data. Markov's injury is not in yet, but everything from the spring and summer is still there. For example, beedub should not be concerned that Ryan Malone is seemingly out for the season with a broken hand. That was from April, and "the season" was the remaining two games.

I never thought I'd be rejoicing taking Maple Leaf players, but it could pay off...

Could be worse. You could have picked Peter Forsberg a few hours before finding out he's got a stress fracture in his foot. Or you could have sat around waiting for two days for Afinogenov to get signed, then picking Dustin Penner just before Max got his contract.

Hey, Forsberg hasn't ruled out a return yet... until he plays a game in Europe or officially says he's done or its December 1, I'm holding out hope.

Of course! He's fine on skates, it's walking that he says the pain is unbearable.

Actually it was slightly different:

“I can hardly walk, but it feels OK when I skate,” Forsberg said. “I
going to let this stress fracture heal, but I am not sure that I am
ready for the NHL yet. We will see. I will make a decision the next
couple of weeks.”

He played anyway, and scored the only goal in a 3-1 loss.

Hey, I'm in the top 10!

Every single team is playing tonight (15 games in total) so all of us have 15 players playing. Someone's bound to have a huge night, point-wise.

Now, where's that GDT? I've been up for 3 hours already (6AM practice -- isn't it great to be a hockey dad ... yea ... ).

I got all excited when I saw that Chicago got a shutout. But Huet was backup -- Niemi got the friggin' shutout.

Yes, SpezD grabbed him for Clutch. I spelled it "Andreson" in the draft pool list thread. Just corrected it.
