If the situation was reversed (Lee with the one-way, Picard on a two-way) then it would have been the reverse. Not enough of a difference between those two (difference in them earning their keep) to make it a slam dunk either way.

Oh, and as much as I love what Carkner brings, if both Lee and Picard were on one-way contracts he would have been the one Bing-bound. Although Carkner brings what those two don't, and what is in short supply around here.

Yes exactly and we could've had Staal, Kopitar. I even like Cogliano and Oshie better!!

On the other hand, every time you think that, remember that there's 45 teams out there that could have had Patrick Wiercioch right now, and another 40+ teams that could have have Robin Lehner. And 3-6 teams that absolutely should have Jared Cowen right now. You win some, you lose some. Luckily for us, Murray and co. are fantastic drafters.

Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call to Picard. Inconsistency at this level will get you waived - 1-way or not.

Exactly. It's so easy to sit back and condemn picks, let's just wait and see.

Yeah. But Murray "missed" out on Khadri. Bingo Sens Talk - Page 2 428331

Picard had a great camp, this was an easy decision IMO.

Did he? I recall him having the singular worst game I'd ever seen a D-man have. I can't recall what game it was specifically though, but it was a doozey. His first game sounded good on the radio. Did he play again after that?

I'd like to know what game that was? Cause I don't recall us getting smoked too often. Not too mention, the games he played he ran the PP effectively. I thought he was good in all games.

Picard's natural ability is tough to walk away from. But I agree, the lack of effort or engagement will catch up to him.

Hmmm....it was on TV, that much I remember. And I remember him absolutely running around in the defensive zone and being beaten left, right and center. Maybe SensGirl11 would remember because I said to her right after that that I think time is ticking down on him here.

Florida? Damn, I can't remember who we were playing.

meh

In no way am I saying he's a high level d-man, but as a 6th or 7th, he's just fine.

Thank god. It's about time. Maybe if we're lucky we'll never have to hear that name again.

Useless piece of junk.

and don't forget about the 290 teams that passed on Brian Elliott... actually looking over the names from that draft, there are some real good gems that were left to the last couple of rounds..thats why I guess i'd rather have a lucky GM than a smart one....

He was solid but a great camp? A bit of a stretch.

It's called doing it with tact and class.

We're leaving a spot open for George Plimpton, in case he ever wants to write "Open Net 2".
