Hemsky may require season-ending surgery. I think it's Heatley's fault.

I'm going down to Atlanta (well, Alpharetta, but flying into Atlanta) Monday. Thrashers are actually in town Monday night, and I don't have any sessions until Tuesday morning, so I figured, what the heck, and clicked on the "Tickets" link. Selected "Best seats" and gave it a go. Two things I noticed:

1. $300 per ticket for row A, section 116 (not center, but just at the outside edge of the players' bench). $300 for a ticket in this economy in that market? Really?

2. Front row in that section is available? Really? I'm pretty sure front row is all sold out in all Canadian cities.

Anyhow, I won't be going, too rich for my blood for sure. Maybe it'll beon TV at the hotel.

Flames are beating up on the Wings and the Bolts are beating up on the Rangers tonight...

And Kessel is living up to the hype in Leaf nation, I guess he was worth the 2 first rounders

It will take a few years for that evaluation to be made... but Kessel certainly is the real deal... 8 goals already...

Yeah, imagine where he'd be if he had a center feeding him pucks. I admint, I was in that crowd that thought he'd fail without Savard, but I guess I was wrong. I still think the price was too high, but mainly because I think they could have gone the offer-sheet way and gotten him for less.

Actually, I just thought of a question to ask that former GM.

I'm talking about a 1-year deal, though. 60-65 games given his injury status. Then a wink-wink promise to make it up with a signing bonus on his next contract. Edmonton right wing Ales Hemsky will miss the rest of the season because of a left shoulder injury that will require surgery to repair.


Already fighting shoulder problems, Hemsky was hurt again Wednesday night in a loss to Los Angeles when he was hit from behind by Michal Handzus. "The hit hurt him, but the problem was already there," general manager Steve Tambellini said. "There was already some instability in his shoulder before."
