Listening to replay of HockeyCentral with Doug McLean... Columbus has lost about 30.4 M - 43M over last 3 years!!!

Doug says a team needs to bring in about 85M/yr to be a prosperous franchise.

Colorado had 11K attendance last game. This is a team that is at the top of its division.

Florida was selling tickets for $1.50 pair in the 400 levels... brought in 12K attendance.

NHL/Bettman needs to remove head from Donkey and do something... i.e. move teams to Canada.

I have several friends (well, friends of my parents) who used to be "Snow Birds" but now with their savings having been decimated they no-longer fly to Florida for the winter.

Fewer Canadians means fewer tickets sold to Canada's Game.

Elementary.

Were would we be without *Pragernomics* to make it all so clear?

In Pragertory, of course.

...is that the Yukon Pragertory or the Northwest Pragertories?

No, that's Pragertory as in the half-way house between heaven and hell.

Ex-67's star Logan Couture had his first NHL goal tonight in a losing effort for the Sharks.

Lars Eller scors in his 1st NHL game, and he looks pretty awesome out there.

Speaking of the Red Wings - Sharks game, did anyone catch the shoot-out? Datsyuk and Zetterberg both had beauties.

Couture (former 67) got his first NHL goal last night with the Sharks....

Maxim Lapierre is a loser. Saw the highlights and he would not drop the gloves after creating a stir. Andrew Ference challenged him and got nowhere. Pierre McGuire tore him a new one saying "this is the problem Canadien fans, this guy will not fight'...

Lapierre is a puzzy, no doubt about it. What a disgrace.

It occurred to me for the first time the other day, that a team could win the Stanley Cup without having won a single regular season game.

Eighty-two points on the season for a team that losses every game in post-regulation. Very pathetic.

Because of the loser points, though, there hasn't been a team in the playoffs with 82 points for a long, long time. I'd bet not since the loser points have been instituted.

It's possible, though, if you win the division.

5 teams in each division, each playing the other 4 teams 6 times each. That's 120 intra-division games. Assuming one of those teams always loses (not in regulation) that leaves 120 wins to divide among the remaining 4 teams. So that's 60 points for each team from wins. So as long as none of them win more than 11 games outside the division it is, indeed, mathematically possible.

Mind boggling.

So what happens if, as has been claimed by the league so far, 25% of the games go into overtime?
