In a wide-ranging attack prepared by Balsillie's legal team, Balsillie's PSE Sports group fired darts at NHL executives from Ottawa owner Eugene Melnyk to New York Rangers co-owner Jim Dolan to Jerry Reinsdorf, the league's preferred purchaser of the Coyotes.

Securities commission for alleged violations of the Canadian Securities
Act." Melnyk, the document notes, was fined $1 million and ordered to

Link didn't work for me. I've been an advocate of Balsillie getting in as an owner but this guy continues to alienate himself. If you want an invite to someone's house for dinner, it's unwise to hoof them in the junk when they answer the door.

It's obvious with the TBL situation that even if Balsillie gets in, there is no guarantee that he'd stay there. Bettman should grant him an expansion team in a market that could easily support it, take $200 million for Balsillie, then force him out after a couple of years.

Jim, and your point is? MLB accepts drug addict palyers; the NFL accepts murderers, drug addicts, and other felons. I recall a time on Hockey Night in Canada, where you were sitting with Eugene in his SBP box and having a great time. Jim, you should take a more conciliatory approach here. So Eugene was fined a mil. So what? He didnt serve any jail time; it`s not like were talking Conrad Black here. And your main problem is not Melnyk. It’s the Pension Plan Puppets, AKA the Toronto Maple Leafs, who don’t want to share their territorial revenue with you.
