Not too bad at all actually. Philly can never get enough of the toughness, we can use a big dude who can score. The salary saves the Flyers 1.7 million and we can easily absorb that.

I've wanted Knuble for a while. I'd rather use a pick, but if Neil's the cost, then so be it.

Um sorry, but I would rather have the Leafs offer.

Come on now. Van Ryn is busted and finished. Accepting him was part of the price Toronto had to pay to get rid of McCabe. Van Ryn's been on the trading block for over a year and nobody wanted anything to do with him. He doesn't get you anything in a trade.

Ditto with Bell, although for different reasons. He was a problem that Toronto had to accept if they wanted to acquire Toskala -- not a throw-in or a bonus, but a counter-weight, a negative TO had to absorb to make the deal happen. He is a spare, unwanted part in the eyes of most GMs, and he doesn't get you anything in a trade either.

Then you add in two MID level picks? Yuck.

I'm don't think Neil, Schubert, and SJS's 1st (I know that wasn't in deal as posted, but it should have been) for O'Sullivan is better than 2 throw-away players and two mid level picks. At least Neil and Schubert have futures in front of them. I'm not saying that's enough to get O'Sullivan, but it's light years ahead of the Eklund rumour / proposal from TO.
