Seriously though, I am yet to see a voice interface that's worth it. The struggles I had with the On* built-in cellphone in my minivan had my kids in stitches (adding to the overall mayhem). For some reason I can't say "Call home" with my BlackBerry without it replying "Call home?" It mispronounces "home" in a way I find difficult to imitate, like the 'o' is almost missing - "Call Hme". And although English may not be my mother tongue, most people who meet me are very surprised to find out I'm not from here. Imagine what it would be like for people with real accents.

The voice commands thing is over-hyped. This technology has been available for 15 to 20 years on PC, but it hasn't caught on yet, because it's not 100% accurate. Also, is there a big difference in talking to your TV versus just using a remote to flip channels.

The biggest is that the voice command module doesn't get lost, doesn't run out of batteries, doesn't fall and break and -- my pet peeve -- when your teenager plops his size-11s on the coffee table they don't get in the way of the voice command module.

But I agree that until they make it infallible it's not going to catch on.

Well for NHL 15, it'll likely ONLY be available on the Xbox One, so you'll get one eventually, just like the rest of us!

Maybe it won't be exclusive to XBONE and PS4, but it'll certainly be better on the next gen consoles. The day will come when it is exclusive to next-gen, so you know you'll be buying one too.

And you're damn right I'm getting a PS4. Although I'll probably wait until summer of next year. As cool as Watchdogs looks, I don't think it's enough to sway me to get one. I'll just end up buying it when I get the PS4.

And Madden 25, FIFA, UFC, and NBA are all confirmed for Next Gen. It seems to be only NHL that didn't make the cut.

Bought a PS2 when MGS 2 came out, bought a PS3 when MGS4 came out, will buy a PS4 when MGS5 comes out.

As for the voice commands, seriously it's awesome news and I don't think it's overhyped at all.

Maybe I'm super lazy, but switching channels without typing 3 numbers is pretty awesome IMO

Yeah, sorry, I should've said it'll only be available on the next-gen consoles. The NHL games typically release in September, whereas I think the XBONE and PS4 won't be available until around Christmas? It'd be nice if the next-gen consoles were backwards compatible with games from the previous consoles, but do we know if that's going to be possible?

None of the 2 consoles will be backwards compatible.

From reading about the XBONE, it's a hardware limitation more than a business move. The new CPU is very different than the old CPU.

Really, if either console gives me the ability to watch any video format like my PC does(namely .mkvs), then that'll be the deciding factor for me.

It's a business move because
1/ They didn't want to waste the engineers' time and their R&D budget on it
2/ They will re-sell old games on the online Xbox store / PS store for like $20
