If I'm Edmonton, and Heatley doesn't come to the team after the President and GM fly to his house, I pull my offer.

This is how I felt after he declined last night but after getting a better lay of the land today it looks more likely a better deal won't come around for a very long time if ever depending on how nasty this gets. Then again... wtf... Will Heatley's trade value ever be higher? I'm no longer convinced after today. Maybe by trade deadline a contending team may pony up some future assets but what happens between now and then?

This has to be done on Heatley's timetable. He's just costing Melnyk money.

Forget Edmonton pulling the offer, Murray is already on record as saying that HE is pulling the offer at 11:59.

I think this guy JP Barry blew his goo getting the twins signed. He seems to be totally misguiding his other client, Mr. Heatley.

I cannot believe that this is all on Dany. Heatley is a whiny little Wing Dang Doodle, but he always struck me as intelligent enough. This whole situation is beyond stupid.

Rooney : do you think there's a time (between the time an offer is accepted and the player is pondering whether to waive) where other teams can not make an offer (sort of like a real estate deal)?

Like an exclusive rights kind of period? Maybe. If the GM of the other team has accepted the deal and is waiting on the player to approve it, you have to assume that he's happy with the deal and isn't going to be looking elsewhere afterward. Nothing official, but I woud assume that's standard practice.
