Only thing better would've been sending him to the Boo Jays.

Lester to the Orioles?

http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/546092

That would not be good.

It was that Rosenthal guy that reported Lester was going to the Pirates, so I figured that he'd be telling the truth. Oh well...sounds like there's a pretty good bidding war for Lester right now. I'd rather the Jays steer clear of that, considering they'd be getting a guy that would likely pitch about 10 games for them.

You knew the BoSox were in trouble last night when their starter walked the first two batters of the game.

Just hope Lester does not go to the Orioles. Send him to the NL please. Thank you.

Jays have a nice "buffer" on the wild card spot now. They're 3 games up on Yankees and Seattle. Let's keep it like that.

50ish games left to play, a lot can still change. Lester to the Orioles would be bad news. Jays gotta keep rolling...hopefully the pitching holds up. Rumours abound that the Jays are looking to trade for a decent reliever.

Just looking at the standings, confusing. Have to realize the last time I follow baseball there were no wildcard spots. So how does that work? The TSN page shows a single wildcard column with the Jays and LA (are the Dodgers in the AL now?) "tied", but LA has much better record. They are both 2.5 games behind their Division leader, so that explains things somewhat. But how many wildcard spots are there? One for each Division or just one? Or is it two spots, and the two closest to their Division leader get in?

Two wild card spots and they have a one game play-in to see who actually makes the playoffs. Then you have four teams in the AL and four teams in the NL and things proceed as normal.

The league has changed since the 'Spos left town, I guess. And I see the Angels are now the LA Angels (I remember them as the California Angels). So the Dodgers are still in the NL. I still remember the Brewers being in the AL, I think they moved shortly after the Expos became the Nationals, right? Who else moved?

That's actually a really good deal for the Red Sox. I'd have rather sign him if I was them, but if not, this guy is a power hitter who can play the game. Nice trade.
