PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Flyers' captain Mike Richards has had surgery on his left shoulder and will need 10 weeks of rehabilitation.
The surgery Friday was on a torn labrum. Last month, he had surgery on his right shoulder.

Richards' shoulders had bothered him since training camp and he used anti-inflammatory medication to manage the pain.
He had 30 goals and 80 points this season in helping the Flyers reach the playoffs.

Dude is an absolute warrior. Right up there with Getzlaf, Lucic, and Ovechkin for my fav players. Weber tops it though!

Flyers have had a succession of great captains. Mike Richards is certainly no different from Jason Smith in that regard. Then Forsberg and Primeau before that.

Say what you want about Lindros, but he was the best at what he did before the injuries...

Flyers breed a different kind of player, the fans wouldnt let them be any different. Wish Ottawa had that mentality!
