If it's anything like Gonchar's last year, his recovery time may well be closer to 6 months.

Still, this pretty much fixes CHI's cap situation for the start of this year. It's not ideal, but it works.

That would be the Quebec City Thashérs, who loaded up at the deadline with Mendenev's money. Sarcasm

Scheduled for Firday, expected to be out 4 months.

Firday is one of the worst days to have surgery as most surgeons are still recovering from the 19th hole on Thrusday.

So the surgery is July 24 and recovery is typically 4 months, which brings us to November 24. And they say he probably won't be ready for the opener on October 2? He's probably not going to be back until December.

If he's only going to miss October and November, does that qualify for LTIR? I doubt it.

I see we both suck as spelling Friday.

But mine was intentional. Note, also, the peculiar spelling of Thrusday.

Well, it was, and that's why I misspelled Thursday. That's all I can say about it. Not looking to start a fight but just setting the record straight.

I guess I should use the Sarcasm smiley more often.

Not sure. I'd think so, tho'. Normal IR is a 7- or 10-day thing. I'd think that anything longer gets your LTIR relief. But that needs checking.

Anyway, all I know is that Gonchar had a very similar injury, and he was supposed to be ready to go come November/December, and didn't play until February. I know this because he sat on my team's IR most of the year, not winning me my pool (which I won in spite of him, of course). Smile
