that is tremendous, sweet cap deal for a player that should continue to produce, if by any chance he flops, we are not hurt for more than one year, smart by Bryan Murray and awesome for Ryan Shannon, looking forward to seeing you next season kid

Hmmmm?

Smile I don't say this often, but if they did that, I would tell them to shove their season tickets up their ***.

This is a fun player to watch. A lot like Alfredsson, but obviously, the skill levels are on another planet.

Wasn't it Dobber who projected Shannon to be a 75 point player...not saying that I agree or that he could be or couldn't be but just trying to remember if I heard that right.

Did he? He goes nuts from time to time though. Smile He project Picard as a 60 point guy in his career - and I'm not so sure about that one either.

wow that is pretty generous, I am definitely happy with Shannon being a 60 point guy, but if he gets to 75, I am sure none of us will complain Smile

I think Picard will silently become a break out player next season now that Clouston is back in the fold and hopefully the loosing ways are behind us. OH ya he'll be playing for an RFA contract. Either way its a win win for us. He stinks it up and comes back cheap or he lights it up and has a great season.

I'm not too sure. Our D needs a reno and I don't know if Picard is a part of that solution. However, if Murray can clear some of the fluff out, then maybe. I'd prefer Picard over Lee to be honest.

I hope you're right. He showed some pretty awesome signs of breaking out before getting injured over and over, so maybe you're onto something.

I think Picard will have something to prove come training camp.
And Phoenix makes a great point: with a potentially juicy RFA offer coming in July, who knows... the motivation is there.

What a great signing.

Foligno (850k) Kelly (2.15mil) Shannon (600k)

Ruutu (1.3 mil) Winchester (550k) Donovan (625k)

6.075 mil for a pretty decent 3rd and 4th line is pretty good IMO.

You can have Bass as the extra forward at 513k. Trade Schubert if anybody will take him and let Neil walk.

So definitely no Zubov or Smith by looking at your bottom 6. Where would you put Regin in this?

EDIT: I see you have Foligno there are well. So there would be two top 6 spots open.

Personally I put Shannon/foligno on the 2nd line, put Regin in between them, that's my opinion, that of course makes the question come up, what about fisher, well, I think its time to let those 3 play together, if Regin falters, stick Fisher back as their centreman.

You dont need to have a designated line 2, line 3. You have secondary scoring, who ever provides it, provides it. People around here get waaaay to rapped up in the 2nd line, the 3rd line, top D pairing, PMD, so on.

If you have guys producing behind your number 1 line, then we should just leave it at that.

Very good deal.

He could have gotten a bit more on a two-way deal but took the security of a one-way deal.

Nice job.
