I think we would be open to talk about Cheecho like you mentioned, maybe throw in Pavelski and Clowe, then we can crunch some numbers lol.

i think if philly can come back and win this it will be because the harsh lesson learned from losing game 2 in OT with two men in the box....they were be on the pk in game three and didnt take as many penalties if they continue this trend then they have a very good chance of a come back

and with both richards and carter scoring i think that will give those two a better edge with a little less pressure

They'll need to find a way to slow down Geno.

No easy task.

I would sacrifice a month if the hockey gods would smile and make this happen for us, it wouldn't be easy, but I could do it. I would just pick on the Hab-nots instead.

Can't help but think what COULD potentially happen or go down if (or once perhaps) the Habs and Sharks get bounced...?

Who's untouchable? Who's not? Who's shown a pink slip? etc...

If we could snag Clowe, I'd be ONE happy fella, as I've mentioned on many occasions he would be a great addition to the Sens or ANY team for that matter.

As for Philly, I think as long as they keep coming at the Pens hard and keep the physical edge there, and keep the Pens playing an individual game, they could very well come out victorious.

A friend of mine was saying that lately, the Pens are their OWN worst enemies. In the last 3 games, the Pens have insisted on dangling and trying to break into the Flyer's zone instead of chipping or dumping in; plus when the physical level was turned up a notch or three, they started playing individual games instead of coming together as a team.

The problem with Clowe is that he's become their best winger and is tailor made for the playoffs. They signed him to a one year 1.6 million dollar deal knowing full well that he would be an RFA this summer - and that they could sign him long term this summer.

Getting him would go against logic that might suggest that the Sharks need to trim some of the soft fat instead of the big, burly, Canadian boys.

If I was in their position, I would trade someone like Cheechoo way before I moved a Clowe. And if a team tendered Clowe an offer sheet, I would match it instantly.

Trading isn't a great option either. They have no use for Spezza or any of our D with the exception of Volchenkov. They would want Foligno + top prospect like O'Brien to make it happen, and suddenly that doesn't sound so good.

Which...is a real bummer.

Damn...You're so right Heater. The dream balloon, if you will, popped as I was reading your post.

Clowe will undoubtedly be re-signed to a handsome contract and perhaps we'll see Cheechoo dangled or a deadline deal perhaps... But from a Sens perpspective, doing or rather paying the probable price to acquire him is just scary and thus should probably be avoided.

Unfortunately right Cronie. Stranger things have happened though, I guess you never know...

The Flyers' Simon Gagne, on tonight's contest:
"We're in a better position than we were a couple days ago, but still it's only one game. We played better the last game than the previous two games. But still it's only one game, we're still down. The next one is going to be even bigger than the last one."

The Pens' Jordan Staal:
"We have a little bit of adversity. We expected that. We didn't play well, but we know we'll bounce back."

Maybe Bryan Murray has some blackmail he can use against the Sharks to get Clowe for next to nothing lol.
