Leafs sign Christian Hanson

Leafs sign Notre Dame C Christian Hanson, son of Slap Shot's Dave Hanson. Yeah, I thought this was a joke, but apparently not.

Sales of HANSON jerseys will no doubt go through the roof. I fully expect to see a lot of CHIEFS jersey's being sold too.

Is this a marketing ploy or does he have something?

Yeah, he was I think the 4th most sought after Uni. player UFA after Bozak, Gilroy and someone else whom I can't remember. Meh...whatever, good for the Leafs, but nothing earth-shattering.

Hopefully this means that Bozak and Gilroy turned the Leafs down.

but players putting on the blue and white of the leafs always end up declined 50% in terms of their talent, must be something to do with the jersey.

Meh. Most things I read about him suggest he tops out as a third-liner. More likely a 4th liner.

Plus, I'm not entirely sure of the CBA, but AceKicker123 (excellent Leafs poster on a lot of sites) pointed out that there's a limit to how many types of these players you can hand out per season, so it may signal that the Leafs are not in the running for Bozak or Gilroy.
