As per Hockey Central at noon, Tom Preissing has been waived and Avery is finally on re-entry waivers.

Preissing waived? wow, didn't see that one coming honestly, has he had that bad of a year? Never follow LA outside of Brown or Kopitar.

Saw that happening. I can't wait for Torts and Avery to butt heads.

How much is left on Preissing's deal? For how much?

That's a lot of money for an excellent 5th D man who can play on the second PP unit.

that is reasonable enough, but depending on his play and well, he didn't exactly like Ottawa the last time he was here, rode the bench a lot during the final round I believe.

The Kings are just too deep on D to keep Preissing. He didn't play against the Hawks on Sunday. Could be a good pickup for someone.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone makes a play for Avery...

I'd take priessing on re entry but I don't like him at his current price tag

unless there is a complete surprise, NYR bags this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if Burke looks at this guy though, if he wants to get annoying and tougher, this guy might be the answer. In Toronto though, wow, it could be a huge mess.

By waiving Preissing, the Kings could be giving themselves more room in what would now total about 15MM in cap space. Lots of money to get a major UFA or take on somebody else's big contract in a trade.

IMHO The Burke might be diabolical enough to pluck Avery from the clutches of the Rangers...who knows?

Burke would definitely grab Avery if he felt into this plans, that would be quite the battle of Ontario, Avery trying to diddle Carrie Underwood and Hilary Duff, only to get rejected flat out, but then he could cry and write his GQ articles.
