Hmmm. i'm not sure about this. I really like Chris Campoli though.

I think Murray has been waiting for Spezza to play himself into a more valuable trade asset, it hasnt happend.

If this isnt to set something up for the deadline, Im not sure I get this trade at all though. How much longer does COmrie have on his deal?

Murray must have another deal in the works to bring in more picks or to get rid of other players.

Guys. Stop flipping out and analyze this trade. It's not bad at all. Chris Campoli is a good, puck moving defensemen. He's not what we're after- and I assure you we're not done... but he's a good mobile defenseman- FAR better than Bell, Picard, AND Lee. Comrie's contract is up after this year, so stop flipping out about that.

You sound like a bunch of babies. That San Jose first wasn't worth anything... Beyond the top 15, maybe 20 picks- everything else is a crapshoot.

I think it's dreadful. We improve marginally, but have no shot at the playoffs if SC is right and Alfredsson is gone for a month.

We shoot ourselves in the foot by getting a worse draft pick, AND we get rid of a way to move up in the draft with SJs pick.

Comrie is a UFA.

Campoli is a decent player though, although his -20 wouldn't seem to indicate that.

I'll take that bet too! Spezza is not going anywhere. I can't believe how fast this guy gets thrown under teh bus. Two games ago, he made two game saving body blocks to preserve a win.

I'll take that bet too! Spezza is not going anywhere. I can't believe how fast this guy gets thrown under teh bus. Two games ago, he made two game saving body blocks to preserve a win.

BEcause he is making 7 million dollars! He is supposed to be the man in Ottawa, he isnt anywhere near what we need him to be even playing well (as little as that is) He basically is getting 100 000 a point right now.

I dont know everybody is crying like babies. This is a pretty good trade that makes our team better. It's time to realize we are not in a rebuilding mode and we are not going to depend on late 1st round draft picks to build our franchise.

Who cares what he's making, what does that have to do with anything? How much is Fisher getting a point then? The guy is still super young and has done nothing but improve every facet of his game. Sure, let's trade the second highest goal scorer on our team.

Does anyone know if Comrie's foot is alright and if he'll be in the line up tomorrow?

Bringing Meszaros into this equation is irrelevant at this point.

If you traded Schubert for Malkin and then traded Malkin for Ponikarovsky, you'd win the trade because Schubert is worse than Ponikarovsky, but it doesn't make Malkin for Ponikarovsky any less dumb.

Obviously that's an exaggeration of this situation, though.

Murray is saying that Campolli is the key to this deal, signed for a while at a really good contract.
