That's not gonna do it NJ. I thought you were gonna get someone sexy like Neidermayer or Pronger?

I'm disappointed. But I still think they can win it all.

Thats probably a deal that helps that team in a large way. Havelid is a solid D man, def a perfect pickup for NJ.

This might suck for us because the Devils were one of the teams that I thought would target Kuba. Oh well, maybe the demand for someone like Kuba will go up even more now.

I disagree personally. They needed to add a little spice to their back end, it's flipping boring. Havelid is good, but he's nothing they don't already have in spades.

But, whatever, good for them. They didn't give up a major prospect or pick, so it can't hurt really.

There's still a lot of teams out there who think they can a)make the playoffs or b) win the Cup. Hopefully we're still up for a major league prospect or a 1st.

Kuba's numbers this year alone trump Havlid, not to mention Kuba's been around and has a ring.

NJ doesnt need "spice", never has. They need someone who can come in and buy into their system right away. Martin can move the puck, White is solid, Havelid is a great, little move that gives that team a solid D man who can play 20 mins a night if need be.

These are the deadline deals that win cups.

Salmela is having a good year in the AHL. He's not terrible but I think Kuba is a little better then Havelid.

Possibly yeah. The asking price was apparently too high for Lou for Kuba, so this is a good second bet if you're not looking to mix things up.

I figured the Devils would win the East anyway - not sure Havild will get them the Cup.

People in NJ are a little pissed to be losing Salmela. Thinks he could run the PP as soon as next year.

Kuba? I don't think so. Kubina has a ring.

I figured I had a 50/50 shot at it.

Lou Lamoriello does it again. The Devils are Cup contenders. Marty Brodeur is back.

Unless Boston one ups them and gets Pronger or even Kaberle, but yeah, it appears as if NJ is gonna take one hell of a run at the East.
