It's the timing. Think about it. I recall, as Phoenix mentioned, the interview he did a while ago. Why would he talk about the Senators any other time? Because they are playing tonight.

You're getting mad at the wrong person(s) here.

I was more pissed off at that Dung "Shanny" for making fun of the team quite frankly.

Wow, who the frank cares what he thinks? He's obviously a tool. Silly, silly stuff. You're Mike Commodore not Jay Bouwmeester. Get over yourself.

Agreed. They play tonight and based on how the team did last year and presently why not ask. I don't have any problems what he has said because I rather hear it than assume. Heck how is what he had said any different that the gossip that gets posted on the web. The difference is that its first hand. If in deed thats how Murray conducted himself then it makes you wonder. I suspect that if more stories like this come forward and Melynk was left in the dark then there will indeed be changes. I dont think thats how Melynk wants to conduct business.

I don't care that he said it, most of it is probably accurate.

Point is, Commodore reminds me of a sixth grader, telling secrets to get attention.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

Nothing he said is shocking to me. Glad a player finally says it in public actually. Should he have kept his mouth shut? Maybe, but why not. He signed a huge contract, is actually living up to it, and is on a better team than we have in Ottawa. I would say right now is the perfect time to say "Ottawa is f'ed up and Im glad Im gone", lol.

Good for him IMO. Id shove it down their throats too. Imagine if the guys in Ottawa actually lived up to their contracts and didnt throw out cliches as if they didnt give a damn... Not that Commodore is the palyer I want, but his attitude defently is.

His attitude absolutely wreaks loser Neely. I'm surprised you're on board with what he said. I wouldn't want a little schoolgirl like that on my team (and before you respond, I realize we might have a couple as it is).

If I'm a player for Columbus im not liking this. It show's lack of maturity and focus. If a reporter asked him a question as a professional I would of liked to hear him say " Ive moved on. Im happy to be in Columbus and focus on our team and are playoff run. Tonigth is a important game for us ......" That's what I would like to hear from my teamate not him talking down to one of his old teams to possibly even get the other team fired up. Just my opinion!

Hey, he has a cup, been to two finals, playing big mins on a playoff team as it stands right now, and playing well. Id shove it down the Sens throat too after I was critized in public. Now he is totally open to critics though which can def work against him.

The players who actually prove people wrong tend to be the players that play with an edge, a chip on their shoulder, something to prove, w/e cliche u want to use. We actually need guys like that, not guys that think they are owed the world.

Personally, I hate all the cliches that get spit out around Ottawa and around the league. Its a little refreshing to me.

On top of all that he also said the Sens locker room is totally disfunctional. Not shocking but hopefully people start talking about that a little more. By all accounts, Commodore is a good dressing room guy and a good team mate... No wonder he didnt work out in Ottawa.

It didn't work out in Ottawa because he was horrendous. The best players get through these things and make a team better. Not spew out loser-esque remarks in the middle of the next season.

Loser.

Say what you want, but he has 1 more cup ring than everyone in that room...

He was awful last year, he said, we said it, the media said it, doesnt take away from the fact he is actually earning what Columbus paid for him.

Just because he wasnt worth 3.25 to the Sens for 5 years doenst mean he isnt worth that much to Columbus, right now, he is def worth that contract to Columbus.

Ill take a guy that is motivated to be better, earn what he is paid, and wants to prve people wrong every day of the week. That being said I wouldnt have resigned him either.

Everything he said was pretty much jusitfied looking at the positions the Sens are in without him and the position he is in with Columbus. I like the "F you" attitude from some players, and he def has it! Wish more guys in Ottawa had it instead of the "yuk yuk, I missed the net" attidude.

Even good players can't do everything themselves. Look at some the other players that have been brought in as rentals and didnt follow through on their abilities.

Heck even Alfie had a melt down in the SCF by shooting the puck at Neids foot as a means to get the team motivated. If our best players got through things then we wouldn't be talking about top 5 picks and the long shots of making the playoffs.

Say what you want, he's a loser in my books. Good for him that he has a Cup ring, saying stuff like this will come back to him at some point.

Oh, I think this will come back to haunt him as well, but right now he is totally justified in what he is saying and like it or not, he has basically been a winner everywhere he has been aside from Ottawa. Even Columbus may now be a playoff team with him... I would say he is far from a loser.

He's right, Ottawa is a mess and he is worth more than people originally thought.

and about the money, what was he supposed to do? say no? I'm, sure he would of signed here for less, but he wasnt even given an offer.
I agree with this point of view. I'm glad we didn't re sign him but I don't mind hearing what he has to say. Especially if it sheds some light on the senators 2008 struggles.
