Good Lord, the Bruins had better win the Cup this year. Kessel will cost 7 million and Krejci a good solid 4.5-5. Plus they'll be going into the last year of Savard's contract and Wheeler and Thomas and Lucic.

They have this year and next to win. Better do it.

A coaching change will at least keep me interested in watching. I hate not watching the Sens, but these guys are nothing but scrubs to me right now.

This is not even a train wreck, I would turn my head for a train wreck, this Dung is unwatchable... Passionless. Make or break road trip... I'm thinking break.

Uh...yeah. Broken. Year over. Donkey bandits need to be completely dismantled. Damn Neely for putting Colin Wilson in my head. Find me someone to acquire who's available LOL.

Despite the fact that we all want to cheer for our team, it's painfully obvious that this season isn't salvagable. It's not like we've been devastated by injuries or any other excuse other than a lack of effort and general suckiocity(TM). It's time to realize that there is no quick fix and that this thing needs an overhaul. I don't think at this point we need to start from scratch, but certainly the roster needs to be blown up and rebuilt in a way so the salaries are balanced.

To me, this road trip is nothing more than the final nail in this season's coffin. Hopefully Melnyk realizes this and takes action in order to make the needed adjustments. I'm not advocating a change in management or coaching, since it's the on-ice product that is lacking. At this point, I would listen to offers for ANYONE other than Volchenkov, Alfie, and Karlsson. Everyone has their price.

You may be on to something Hemi.

I'm so depressed, disgusted and generally angry with the lack of drive or will to compete with these guys. At this point, Melnyk and his staff should address the fans and season ticket holders and let them ALL know what's in store, because I get the feeling a decent chunk of season ticket holders will NOT be renewing for next season, and THAT's a consequence Melnyk can feel...

What are the chances of us going 0-8 on this road trip? We've lost the first three... next up are Edmonton, Toronto, New Jersey, Buffalo and Boston.

With our play of late, I'd say 0-8 on this trip is a very real possibility.

Do you think LA is insterested in Spezza? If so what would they have to offer?

O'Sullivan...J. Johnson...coming back the other way +

you know that feeling when you're watching your team about the be elimnated? Like the 3rd period of a series when they're down and it feels like they're shotting beebee guns at a tank? THAT is what that whole game felt like...and it's not even April!!!

It's done.

I'm not going to say who SHOULD be traded or not but here's who I think will be NOT returning and/or gone by the trade dealine

Neil - he's been a warrior but is ufa
Spezza - too much talk for him not the to selling his westboro house
Gerber - (insert farting noise)
McAmmond - gone
Vermette - no comment
Kuba - 50/50 depends on his contract requests
Schubert - crappy dman ... okay 4th liner
Volchenkov - love to keep him but I think he's going to get a lot of interest from a top team. He's UFA season after next and will want 4.5M+.

Honourable Mention: if some wants Kelly in exchange for a new team Bus, make the deal....

All that said, returning...

_______ - ______ - Heatley
Alfie - Fisher - ________
Foligno - Kelly - Winchester
Donovan- Bass - Ruutu

______ - _______
Philips - Picard
Lee - Smith

_________
Auld

So we need 3 top 6 forwards, 2 top Dmen, and a Starting goalie

This should be easy! Suspect

We COULD get back up in 1 year if Murray makes the right moves starting now.
we could do just what Philly did but it will take some luck...
Get the bidding wars started for Vermette, Spezza, and Volchenkov and get a goalie and as many 1st rd picks for 2009 that you can. The top 30 prospects are LOADED with quality Forwards....and for F%cks sake, get a real 1# goalie this time!!!

One more comment from last night's game, as much as Fisher's not producing, he'll be here when the dust settles and will be a big part of this team over the next few years.

that's all I got!

If we trade Spezza, this team is set back even longer. WHy trade teh only guys who are producing.

Face it! We suck, we have no collateral to make trades, teh only way to fix this is through Free Agency and the draft, it won't happen over night like so many naive people think will happen.

I guess I am just a sucker for hockey so win or lose I will be renewing my season tickets. On the other hand, I was really surprised with the number of full and half season tickets that were not renewed after last year. If Melnyk wants to continue to sell tickets he needs to make sure that the fans see at least some sort of effort.

I don't want to see Volkie go anywhere. There are other palyers I would give up before getting rid of him. As for the goalie, Elliott will be here next year and he has the makings to be #1. Between him and Auld, we should be fine. I think we should keep Alfie, Healtey, Volkie, and Auld. Everyone else, from the current roster, is fair game.

Jam what is with your piss attitude lately?

I never said it would be fixed overnight...nor do I want it to really...

I kinda want to see a mini-rebuild and have been saying it for a while...even if this team were to get things going...they are lazy...and lack heart...not the type of team I am interested in...

the reason I brought up LA...was well...EK did...so I thought we have nothing better to do...so why not discuss trade possibilities?

Trading Spezza now may not be the best option...we don't know what is being offered...waiting until the deadline might be the best option...however have you ever stopped to think that when teams know exactly where they stand in the draft it makes it harder...

if you have the #1 pick...(Tavares or Hedman) are you really going to give that up for Spezza?? I know I wouldn't...

so...it seems like you maybe have to gamble now...or at the deadline and deal him to a team that has a high possibility of getting the top 2 picks...

anyway...your attitude is just ridiculous lately...and no I am not trying to get in a pissing match...but you come one here lately and just harp on the posters which is just stupid...

This team would be nuts to trade Volchenkov, unless he has indicated that he does not want to be in Ottawa anymore. He is worth over 5 mil to this team.

Here is the list of players that will be gone by early March:

Neil
McAmmond
One of our overpaid centers (Kelly, Vermette, Fisher)
Kuba
One of our two goalies
Schubert

That should net 6-8 picks or prospects.

I am hoping more than 1 of them go...(See bold above)

I also think Spezza will be dealt at some point...for no other reason than this team has way too much money tied up...and if his NTC clause kicks in...we are the Toronto Maple Leafs for the next several years...

No clue what managment should do, but if Murray has proved anything in the NHL it's he knows how to build a team. Ive been saying get rid of Spezza because he is the easy guy to get rid of and then the team is forced to rebuild, which I wanted.

You sill need NHL players on a team no matter what, and Phillips being a 10 year memeber of the Sens, good in the city, great with the kids and community, and a good D man, should be here for the rebuild if he wants to, same with Alfi. They are both character guys with a lot of expierence that could go a long way with the future Sens coming along.

Get rid of Heatley too, there really isnt a point to having him around either if this team is just going to be Dung for the next 3 years. Why waste his prime and pay out major money to someone? No point to it.

Fine, but if we keep Phillips, I want to keep Heatley. Unless he brings us 4 quality NHL prospects - all blue chippers, I wouldn't even consider it. He's having an off year, don't shoot him because he's sucking this year.

I love Heatley, but there is no point in him being here, and wasting his prime with a team that wont win. His value is sky high still, no matter what and would get a great return. We keep him through the rebuild then what? Its all downhill for the guy.

Now, if the Sens just reload this off season, get rid of a lot of deadwight and cash, then maybe they should keep him. So I basically just changed my mind mid sentance about Heatley.

I just know who defently has to go.

What does that say to your fan base base if you trade a 50+ scorer in his prime?

Will our fickle market support a re-build?
