So im going to take a run at doing a Fantasy Pool this year, I will be making the list hear and will get everything going hopefully WELL before the pre-season, as i said if anyone has any suggestions on how we should run it feel free to PM me or post it. I would like another person to help me if possible if not rolling solo works to (does anyone use that line anymore) IM thinking right now 9 forwards 4 defenceman 2 goalies same as last year.

I'll tentatively be in. Depends on the format and things used.

You can make a suggestion, we can do it like last year and have a manual draft on the site and i will tally everything or we can use a site, lots of options, do we want to do trading.. feedback is welcomed ThumbsUp

Yahoo has a decent setup. I use it for hockey and football pools and it's never let me down. They have live drafts too, so could be worth looking into.

Would it be easier to do an offline draft or online draft ? also i am thinking of doing a points league, unless thats a bad idea.

What kind of points league? Do you mean just the amount of points players get or points for goals, assists, shots, etc.

I think it would be easier to do a draft on the boards here and then enter the results offline on Yahoo or whatever.

ya thats what i was thinking. Points league being the mount of points for goals, assists and for goalies shutout + wins

We tried doing the draft that way -- via message board, PMs/e-mails/reminders/threats/. I, for one, would be in favor of trying that other site that lets you have a draft that lasts as long as it needs to.

I added a poll to the top.

If this is a straight draft pool (hopefully just points, although we used to do points plus 1/4 point per PIM -- that was quite a bit of fun) then I'm in. I just don't want anything that involves daily tweaking like sitting players, trades, waiver wire, etc. And I don't know enough about rotisserie style pools.

I'd prefer an online draft, but if we could put aside 2-3 lunch hours to get it done. Once I come home it's very tough to find the time.

If by "offline" you mean on-line but not in real-time, then I'd be willing to give it a try -- just make sure it's not like last year. That was excruciating.

I've got a suggestion.

- 12 forwards, 6D, 2G
- No draft, everyone takes the player they want. BUT, we include a salary cap.
- hat trick / goalie SO = 5 points
- +/-

That way we can really bet on some low salary guys (underachievers, entry level contract etc) who we think will break out.
It`s a bit complicated, but it's seriously freaking competitive, as opposed to last year's... and we don't need a long draft...
It's just a suggestion, of course.

Im leaning towards points pool, No trades or Waivers, counting Goals, Assists, Short Handed Goals, and for Goalies, Wins and shut outs
