PLAYOFF GAME DAY: Game 4: Washington Capitals (2) @ Montreal Canadiens (1) - 7:00pm ET - Wed. Apr. 21nd, 2010

The Washington Capitals visit the Montreal Canadiens for game 4 of their first round match-up tonight at the Bell Center arena. Washington exploded with a dominating 5-1 victory over the Habs in their first game in Montreal and chased Halak from the net. Much like the Sens, the Habs look like they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of pulling off an upset in this series. There just seems to be far too much fire power on the Capitals and Varlomov provided them with some solid net minding in place of the now bench warming Theodore much like last season.

I decided to put up this thread as I'm just mentally drained from all the negativity surrounding all the Sens talk. The Habs aren't down and out yet but putting Price in to me smacks of desperation and IMO it's the wrong guy for the job if they want to get this series knotted up at 2 a piece.

I think this game gets ugly early and Price gets the hook after allowing the 3rd goal.

Man, this has the potential to be a real bloodbath for the Habs.

Agreed. I have Caps in 5 in the bracket pool so they better win the next two.

Maybe if AO can play half as well as Crosby this game will be over early.

In all seriousness though I can't see Montreal coming back even if they're on their A game. Washington's only real weakness is there defensive zone play but if Montreal never gets much of a chance to play in their end it's not a big deal. I still find bringing in Corvo to be a odd move. They did not need another offensive D man. What they needed was a shut down D. Varlomov is capable of stealing games though so that should mask some of their defensive issues.

Back to the safe haven. So thoughts on the game tonight. Montreal comes out hard but Varlomov stones them and the Caps score some opportunistic goals. Boom series on the brink after the final whistle.

GO CAPS GO!!! I would be thrilled to see Montreal in the same situation as we are. I can say it now, bad Karma means nothing anymore for us. It seems like the world is against us.
