I guess he's so big and so "weathered" looking that we forget he's only 24!!!! GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ San Jose Sharks - 10:30pm ET - Tue. Yeah man, I was saying that the other day to Mel. He's 24...still lots of time to develop - and he's already an amazingly good hockey player. Very exciting!!! GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ San Jose Sharks - 10:30pm ET - Tue. Dec. 1st, 2009: Sharks win 5-2 PLUS postgame thoughts - Page 29 805406

He does look older than 24 for sure, I keep forgetting how young he is.

Michalek looks like a fisherman to me. If he wasn't a hockey player he wouldn't look out of place selling shrimp and fish by a harbor somewhere.

We'll see when Murray drafts another beauty next year.

I htink we should keep the lines together from now on. SJ's chemistry was basically the difference in the game (and Dan BOyle).
I still think the Sens think too much when they are on the ice. Especially the defensemen. You get an open lane you shoot goddammit, don't waste your time trying to make a perfect pass.

You can see it at about the 1:18 mark of the TSN highlight package for the game. I would embed it here, but i'm not sure how to do that with TSN videos.

Here's a link to it though:

Really wanted to see this game so, I avoided all hockey sites yesterday and downloaded the game. Watched it last night. Personally, I thought after looking a little lost in the 1st, they got their act together and played quite well overall. I agree with SpezD, that 4th goal really hurt...you could see the momentum fade away after that one. We played very well in their zone with the cycle and fighting for space. Disagree with whoever said Kovalev's puck control never looked like a good scoring chance. Winnie should have buried the one but needed some viagra...GET IT UP! Fisher did the same thing- shot right along the ice, into Greiss' pad.

Overall, I thought it was a very entertaining game and with a little puck luck, we could halve won that game. We showed we can play with the best. I'll be very pleased with another effort like that tonight. Would also be nice if Spezza could play a solid 3 periods and not give up if he doesn't have any points after 2.

During Dany's stay in the nations capital he averaged 45 goals per season. Michalek is on pace for 44 goals (before Tues game). MM is bigger stronger and faster the DH, $3M/season cheaper and is locked up for the next four years.

I guess there is a good reason BM held out as long as he did.

Michalek is an absolute monster. He's a better player then Heatley, period.

Michalek doesn't seem to put up as many assists as others though (including the Douchebag).

Right now I would rather have Michalek than Heatley... period.

If he played with a center who actually scored he would.

No one who watches hockey regularly could possible argue with that.

I already love Michalek more than I ever did Heatley. 50 goals or not. Whatever. He's better all around, and only 24 to Heatley's 28-29. He only has room to grow and get better.

Right now Michalek is only on pace for 49. We'll take what we can get, I guess. GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ San Jose Sharks - 10:30pm ET - Tue.
