OK, so i have been on this all day and just noticed the stats link. Very interesting info and must make for a lot of work to complete...Good job guys.

Three of the top-10 most active topics are about Meszaros. That's just wrong.

Yeah those were all in the summer, while the Meszaros stuff was going on.. It is kind of weird to see that though! :D

Wouldn't this kind of qualify as one about Mez too (in a secondary way?)

We spent way too much time on him.

He wanted almost $5m, then a few months later, we re-up our heart and soul for about the same.

Somebody needed to go and give the kid a good whack upside the head. Or have him sit in front of Alfie, Bryan, and the gang, and explain why he should have been paid as much as our first modern-day player who will have his number retired.

That's an excellent point.

He isn't worth HALF of what Alfie makes.

He should be our ultimate comparable for new contracts.

Like Crosby in Pit, I think Alfie has set the bar here in Ottawa (with maybe Spezza/Heatley reasonable exceptions).

It will be hard for any player to justifiably ask for more, at least until they can really prove themselves. And I mean really prove themselves.

Luongo in 2y, I think, but that goes against the way I'd build - which is the Detroit style (mid-high goalie, but rocking D)

Off-hand, don't know.
