LOL.. Then I almost forgot this is the same team who offered 10 million a year for 2 years for Sundin... But you know what they are definitely fiscally responsible... yeah for sure... Tie up all your free space in ONE player... I'll take Spezz and Hetaer at 14.5 over Sundin at 10 any day of the week no questions asked...

I'm afraid UFAs and resigning your own players are apples and oranges in this league. Free agent "frenzy" is just getting worse (as paying an aging Sundin $10M per for a TWO year deal demonstrates).

Sorry, I should have explained a little better... Sundin in no way shape or form is worth 10 million... I understand that the Canucks might have to overpay to get him, but that does not mean they NEED to get him... There are other players in this league who could help Vancouver way more than Sundin.... Paying Sundin 10 million a year is ludicrous no matter how you spin it... I don't care if he's a UFA or not.. He's not worth that money and i'll laugh hard if he accepts that deal and handcuffs that team for the next 2 years...

I'm just happy he's not in the news today. I take that as a small victory these days.
