Sorry, but yes, that $6 mil number is still irrelevant. His cap hit this year, and for the next 5 years, is $4.2 mil. That's the only number that matters.

Mike Fisher is getting paid $4.2M per year over the length of his contract. Since we don't expect him to dial down his play in the years when his actual salary is less than that average, we shouldn't argue that he's not playing up to his $6M salary right now, either. So, in that sense (as well as in the cap sense) it *is* irrelevant.

That said, he's not playing like a $4.2M player either, so we can all Wing Dang Doodle about that.

Edit: Oh, so *that's* what that is!
