Yeah, out of the possible goalie moves, this might have been the best one. A young guy, RFA, and already has tons of playoff experience. I hope they sign him to a shorter term contract, but we'll see what happens.

Depends how much faith the sens have in their goalie prospects. I guess this means Nilsson is all but done on Ottawa ?

he's injured. I would have tried to get Murray even if he wasn't, though. Hogberg is a decent backup but don't see him starting. Murray is only one year older.

He’s been the butt of many a joke. Could possibly be the dumbest hockey player on and off the ice and that is saying something. He’s a perfect blend of Harpur’s size and Ceci’s awareness.

Almost positive you made fun of him on here about a month ago too. So your about-face is fascinating.

Yeah I'm cool with it. Hogberg was never a long term solution. Daccord and Gus are the future. Maybe sogaard too.

Anyone know if Sanderson has a similar skillset to Byram or is the expectation that he's a shutdown with limited offensive upside?

I saw McDonagh as a comparable but also read heiskanen comparisons

Don’t think I’ve ever talked about him? I just said I knew they would pick him, not offering a personal opinion because I don’t know him. He screamed sens pick though.

I did say if they picked Byfield at 3 I’d be fine with kleven at 5.

He was 36 in bobs rankings.

I think McDonaugh is a better comparison.
that's the one I hear from most reputable analysts.
who knows at this point. apparently, he didn't switch his gears to try and be more offensive until midseason so who knows.

Just so I have it straight, every player the sens drafted is listed as a LW or LD. Some can play their off side or move to center, but they're all listed in their "natural" positions .

Did not draft a natural center, rw or rhd in the first two rounds

Sens also reached on pick #5 and took arguably the biggest boom/bust player at #3. I have my concerns about the outcome of this draft
