Oh man! Have you guys seen the proposed rosters for team Canada which will wind up at the Olympics? We are gonna get :rp:

I would assume most other teams from other countries will suck too?

And why is Mason Raymond not in the NHL anymore?

I dunno. Russia and Finland should be better than us. I'd put my money on Russia with kovalchuk and daytsuk making us look like shmucks!

Kovalchuk won't sign with a team in the KHL? And then isn't he not allowed to play?

I'm not sure what Kovalchuk will be doing next year, but I believe it's up to each league to decide if they want to give players permission to play in the Olympics. I imagine most European leagues, including the KHL, will do this.

Yeah, the NHL seems like the only league refusing to let his players go.
Absolutely stupid.

There's nothing in it for the NHL. It makes way more sense for them NOT to go. Makes the players look like idiots for not negotiating this in the CBA. Suckers.

At one point you have to let them go because it's not all about money. These are athletes and the Olympics is a chance for the very best athletes in the world to compete. Money should sometimes get the hell out of the way. Especially when it's negotiating for pennies and dimes.

nah the Olympics is for amateur athletes.

nah the Olympics is for amateur athletes.

This isn't really true anymore. Pretty much every athlete there competes in the highest leagues on the planet, most of which pay. The hockey rosters will still be filled with pro players.
