Makes sense since they looked great together. Perhaps Smith is also not close? If the Sens can handle the Bruins without them I say rest guys for round 2 if that's how long they need.

Smith and Methot could do with the extra healing time if need be.

Not sure Kelly will be in. IMO, it's a toss up between him and Wingels. Kelly is a PK specialist and since Smith has been injured, our PK has been terrible. After some thought I'd prefer Wingels in the lineup I think. Also not sure why Smith would play center seeing that he's been an effective LW for two years now.

Well, Boucher has said Stalberg, Brassard and Burrows will play together.  Perhaps something like this then?

C-Mac - Turris - Stone
Hoffman - Pageau - Ryan
Stalberg - Brassard - Burrows
Smith - Kelly - Pyatt

I don't see them putting Smith on the 4th line personally but, who knows? That looks like a pretty deep team on paper at least.

Kelly has played every game this season. There's nothing to indicate he won't keep rolling with Kelly into the playoffs.

Krug is unlikely to play and Carlo is definitely out for game 1.

If Carlo has a concussion protocol dictates 10 days symptoms-free. That would mean he misses at least games 1 & 2 and very likely 3.

Of course this is playoffs and they haven't officially used the C-word.

Torey Krug (lower body) will probably miss the entire first round, according to Bruins GM Don Sweeney.

Could be mind games and he will actually play, but he left after the game on crutches and with a brace on his knee. If he does end up playing, he will not be as effective; he will also not be as mobile, so more prone to being hit. If they don't dress 7D we should do all we can to make sure he gets re-injured.

As expected, Charlie McAvoy has been recalled. Krug led the Bruins D with 22 points on the powerplay; Chara was next with *3*. Big skate-boot for "Charlie" to fill.

The Bruins should've done what we did with White, and get McAvoy in to a regular season game or two prior to the playoffs. This could cost them.

Krug was injured in the game on the 6th. Then they played on the 8th against the Caps when Carlo was injured. They needed to points between them and the Leafs to take 3rd place. With all opposition (Caps and Pens/Jackets for Leafs) expected to ice a callup-rich lineup maybe they felt the game was too important.

Hard to say.

Well, if he didn't perform well in a regular season game, then at least you know what to work on and what to expect going into the playoffs. Bringing a defenceman in for his first NHL game in the playoffs is not being put in a position to succeed, but they're desperate.

Ideally they would have built up enough of a cushion to rest players and have the opportunity to play him in a nothing game. Sucks to be them.

Ottawa statistically had a bad season from a points production angle. Bad powerplay, bad penalty kill, bad possession numbers, don't score a lot of goals. What the stats leave out is that early in the season, Ottawa was getting blown out by the good teams, and their losses were pretty lopsided leading to a negative goal differential.

What the stats don't include is the fact that Ottawa beat just about every good team in the NHL, was missing their #1 goalie for half the season, and have a ton of depth. Their team is built for the playoffs. Ottawa will win this series. Boston will be pesky and will score their goals on the powerplay.

Man, the amount of disrespect is ridiculous. Whatever. This will be similar to the Habs series in 2013. Boston doesn't have enough depth to win this series.
