Nicely done, Mr. Francis.
It's still a second and a third. I know they have the room to swallow bickell's contract but they might have been able to only pay a second. Minor details.

Open the flood gates!!!

I think they actually need players like Bickell right now. Arizona is in even worse shape and needs to absorb almost $20M to make the floor. Teams like that are dying for these opportunities. I think you're right though, a 2nd probably could have been enough, or they could have insisted on a 4th coming back or something like that. Either way, TRADES! Cheering

Yeah. Nice to see trades happen so early. I imagine we'll see a few more trades of importance before the draft. And en on draft day. I'm gonna have to find a good wifi connection in NYC.

I don't know when the next big trip( talking months of travelling ) will be. I graduate next spring so nothing till then and probably nothing major for the following 2 years.
Quick 3 days in NYC in 10 days and then maybe one or two weeks in Mexico or somewhere south at the end of August but that's all that's planned.
I am getting itchy feet and could definitely live with 3 months in Indonesia if I could.

Nobody just leaves "to pursue other business opportunities". Someone got fired. I wonder what he messed up.

If he was pushed, they'd have had a successor all ready to take over. He's staying on for a few months to consult on certain projects. Sounds like this was his decision and it left them scrambling a little.

Why would you want to go somewhere south at the end of August? It hot and muggy up here, too, with little threat of hurricanes. February/March is the best time for a week in Mexico.

Because that's the only time I get a break.

Shocking no one, RJ Umberger is being bought out.

Ward re-signed to a 2 year, $6.6M extension. $3.3M per year (I believe).

EDIT: Nope. $3.5M next year and $3.1 the year after. $3.3M cap hit.

By comparison, Anderson's cap hit is $4.2M. Anderson's .916 last year appears to be a bit of a blip, while Ward's been around .910 the last two seasons. If he rebounds, this will be a great deal. If not, he'll be overpaid by about $2M.

This deal makes a lot more sense. I get the feeling they want to move on from him but why do it now while they are rebuilding. 2 years is a proper window for that.

The "Cows" Cowen saga comes to a merciful end...
